Site #3 Labor Day Stay
OYBC was a great place for a long weekend stay! Site 3 was perfect with a good amount of tree cover. Well maintained fire pits with high quality cooking grates made cooking very easy. You definitely need 4 wheel drive! Loose gravel and potholes on the main drive can be tricky even with a 4 wheel drive. Getting to and from Bass Lake and Yosemite was extremely convenient. Definitely would recommend to anyone who’s looking to check out Yosemite but cant get a site in the park. Would stay here again if I'm in the area. Cassidy was a great host and was quick to respond to all of my questions. Thanks for the stay!

Cassidy was very easy to coordinate with and has great instructions on how to get there / set-up. We stayed at campsite #4 which was secluded and spacious.

Site 2 - Old Yosemite Base Camp (4x4 ONLY)
OYBC was a really cool site! I was the only camper there during my stay so I got to explore all the sites. I'd say site 2 and 3 were the best. 2 has a slightly better (unobstructed) view, the sunset was unreal, but site 3 has more shade. Any site you go with you won't be sorry though. Each side has a fire pit with a cooking top to it, a picnic table and a standard table. Bathrooms were clean and fully stocked when I went.
The driveway is easily tackled with a 4x4 or AWD vehicle regardless of ground clearance. Bring some big spray for sure. Cassidy was super on it with communication and checking in. Definitely recommend this site!

Camping on the hill
It’s a beautiful place. The campgrounds are separated for privacy so it feels like you are alone. There is no water which was not a problem for us because we take many gallons. The latrines require some walking. You definitely need a 4x4 and better if it has higher clearance. Cassidy was very helpful and responsive, the Oak Fire started on the day we arrived and she was concerned that we were going to struggle with the smoke and ash, she offer a refund if we wanted to leave, the winds shifted the smoke and we were able to stay for the weekend, it was a great gesture from her part. Hopefully we can come back soon.

Lovely weekend by Yosemite
Such a beautiful and private spot. Fire pits were a nice touch! Beautiful view for sunsets and the stars and nearby great hiking. Will definitely be coming back in the future!

Gorgeous hilltop setting!
Cassidy’s land was a really awesome place to set up for our time in Yosemite. We were able to get our teardrop trailer up to site 3, and that’s the only site it would have worked at. Our 3 year old son had an amazing time exploring the property, and it was lovely coming back to the gorgeous sunsets on top of the hill we stayed on.

I loved camping here! The land was beautiful and the location was great - very convenient and easy to drive up through the south entrance of Yosemite. The view of the stars and Milky Way was unbelievable. We made a fire and cooked on the grill (very nice quality). The bathroom was clean. The area was quiet and well maintained. We liked it so much that we stayed an extra night!

Awesome Campsite!
My husband and I really enjoyed camping here. The hosts instructions and description were extremely informative and clear. We drove our AWD Subaru Outback and that was perfect for getting to our site. It is a little bit of a jaunt from the campsites to the potties but not too bad. The campsites were really clean and beautiful. The sunsets were lovely and the bugs weren’t too bad. It was only a 15-30 minute drive into Oakhurst which had some fun places to stop and about the same amount of time to get into Yosemite’s South Gate, as well as Bass Lake- it’s a super centralized location for all of those points.

Nice spot
We enjoyed site 2. You’re able to park your truck right in front of your tent, which is convenient but also you’re not too far from the restroom. Not too dusty, but does get a bit warm in the summer months. So close to Yosemite however, so worth it if you want to do a little traveling. We recommend completely.

Great spot for tent camping. Very close to the Southgate entrance to Yosemite. We stayed in site 3 and loved the shade from all the trees. Highly recommend. The bathrooms are a little far.

Escape the crowds of Yosemite
Fantastic escape from the usual busyness of Yosemite NP. Sites are quiet and spacious with wonderful views. Amazing waterfall hikes within 10 minutes and access to Mariposa Grove is quick and easy. Does take a while to get the the Valley from here but road is scenic and enjoyable. Easy access to supplies, gas etc. in town too - an absolutely wonderful place to camp and get away from it all.

Large Campsite
This is a large tent site. It's not flat so have to be mindful. #4 doesn't have much shade and has lots of sun-so consider that when booking. Great bonfire pit.

Nice campsite close to everything
We really enjoyed this campsite! It was the furthest back from the road and the highest in elevation. It worked out perfectly for us and my kids loved climbing on the rocks.
This spot is about 20 minutes from the Yosemite south entrance and it is very close to Oakhurst which has lots of food and shopping options. The only downside to this place is that the port a potties are at the very bottom of the campsite so it’s a decent uphill climb back to the campsite. Not fun if you gotta go in the middle of the night but the night sky is pretty awesome.
Also you do need an AWD vehicle, I saw someone in a car without 4WD try to make it up the hill to the campsites and their car never made it up.

Clean and peaceful!
Great spot, close to the road but away from the crowds. Host was friendly. We drove 1.2 hrs to Yosemite from here on both days we were camping but it was worth it. Made it a great option for last minute planning since camping in the park these days seems almost impossible to get a reservation. I would come back and definitely recommend it.
Thank you Cassidy!

It was great! My first camping experience and it could not have been better. We were lucky only one other sight was booked so we had a lot of privacy. Enough space, lovely camp fire and only a beautiful ride away from great trails. We would recommend the chilnualna falls trail! Less crowded than the trails starting from curry village. And Bass lake is nearby as well for a refreshing swim!

Site 2 - Old Yosemite Base Camp (4x4 ONLY)
I was in town for the Yosemite half marathon and this served as a great base camp. Oakhurst is just a few minutes away in case you need to grab anything. The sites are semi private but good sized with space for multiple tents, fire pit and tables included. I didn't mind the walk down to the bathroom (outlined in the guide) so much as I minded the fact that in didn't seem to have been cleaned any time recently. Instructions are explicit and well laid out. You are about twenty minutes from the south entrance to Yosemite so factor that into your plans accordingly. Overall, would stay again.

We stayed at site 3 and really enjoyed ourselves. The location was perfect for entering the South Gate at Yosemite. It was clean and quiet. The fire pits with grates were great for heating up our food. All the other campers were extremely quiet and respectful. Loved hearing the turkeys gobble in the morning and enjoyed all the quail.
