Site 1 - Glamping Tents, Vistas & Stars
I returned to Running Springs Ranch a year after my initial visit and we had lovely stay. We got to relax, soak in the epic views and sunshine, reveled in the nightly display of stars, admired the wealth of the vegetable garden, and explored the lavender fields. Thank you to Steffny and Alan for sharing their little slice of paradise with us.

Soak in Sunrises and Stars at RSR
This spot is ABSOLUTELY dreamy. I couldn't recommend it more. My husband and I stayed in space 2 / the lower tent, with friends staying in the upper tent. Both were immaculately clean and incredibly cozy, with nice touches of antique furniture. There's probably nothing I could tell you here that you haven't already read—just gorgeous accommodations. The scenery is not to be missed, between the sunkissed hills outside your tent to the unbeatable stargazing views. My hot tip: book on a new moon so you can maximize the stargazing potential—I don't think I had ever seen the Milky Way until then. Bring a picnic blanket, so you can lay down while you gaze.
Steffny and Alan are wonderful hosts, very friendly and helpful, and their pets—Brodie, Sophia, and Ranger—were very welcome (occasional) visitors to our site.
Highly recommend visiting Orr Hot Springs while you are there—just a ten-ish minute drive down the road and so much more relaxing that I envisioned.
If you stay in tent 2 (lower), it is very private and secluded, but a little bit of a trek to the bathroom facilities and might be tough for folks with mobility restrictions.
For tent 1, this is great option for folks who like the accessibility (it's very close to your parking spot, as well as being closer to the bathroom) and don't mind occasionally seeing the people in tent 1 (when go to the bathroom or use the shared dining & firepit area, which is directly behind tent 1).

Lovely, peaceful stay on Steffny & Alan's lavender farm. They were both so friendly and accomodating, and made us feel right at home. The star gazing was magnificent and the sunrise views from the tent were beautiful. A wonderful getaway from city life. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We had a great experience camping here. The tent was clean and comfortable, and the views from the tent were beautiful. It was a luxury to have a full bathroom available just a short walk up the hill. We would love to come back sometime!

Weekend getaway
We absolutely loved our time at Alan and Steffys lavender farm! It was our last weekend of summer before I went back to graduate school and we were so excited to hang out on such a beautiful property. The tent was clean, well designed and had an amazing view of the hills from the front porch. Alan greeted us and helped us bring our bags to the tent and gave us tips for activities in the area. Would definitely stay again!

Glamping at Steffny and Alan's was incredible! Such a beautiful property and a wonderful view from the tent! The bed was comfy, the tent was clean and a flush toilet and shower were close by. Exactly what you want in a glamp site. Steffny and Alan were very friendly and responded quickly to any questions/communications we had.

This is an absolutely an amazing place to slow down and breathe. There is something very special about it. Steffny, Alan, Nick, and the fur babies were very welcoming and just lovely to talk with and share space with. Plenty to see and do. Very cozy glamping experience. This spot is just a dream. My partner and I (and our pup) had the loveliest stay with Steffny and Alan and we did not want to leave. We stayed in tent #1, which had the most spectacular view and the comfiest bed. We enjoyed walking around the property and smelling all the wonderful lavender and hearing the buzz of the bees. Both Alan and Steffny are just the loveliest humans- they made sure we had everything we needed and gave us great recommendations. They even offered us delicious tomatoes from their garden. It was the perfect way to unwind and get away from the grind- highly recommend booking a stay here. You won’t regret it.

Glamping Extraordinaire
Steffny's land and the glamping tent was incredible! Exceptionally serene, very communicative, and accommodating! We got held up due to road closures and Steffny and Alan were able to check us in at almost 11pm with no problems. During the day we were able to shower and roam as we wished in the appropriate areas. The bed was comfortable and the morning sunrises were incredible. Would highly recommend. Make sure you follow their instructions for finding the place though! Google takes you awry.

The Perfect Glamping Retreat
We loved this site! The perfect weekend glamping getaway. Everything about the site felt carefully and thoughtfully designed—the tent itself was stunning, and its views picturesque—but the hosts even accent the tent with (electric) tea lights and a carafe of fresh water. You have access to running water, a full bathroom, and laundry machines, while still maintaining a feeling of remoteness and serenity. Strolling around the lavender fields was magical, and sitting out on the tent’s covered porch could have easily filled our days. Highly recommend! Thank you to Allen and Steffny (and Broadie the pup) for making this such a special retreat!

Perfect weekend getaway
From the moment I saw this stay on Hipcamp, i knew I would love it. Alan and Steffny were so welcoming and kind! My husband and I came here for a small weekend getaway/mini honeymoon as we just got married about 2 months ago. We loved every minute of it! The view from Tent 1 is unmatched.
Saturday we stayed at the property and relaxed and appreciated the gorgeous view. In the evening, Alan recommended the perfect place to go watch the sunset just up the road from them. It was absolutely beautiful!
Sunday, we drove down to Orr Hot Springs and got the day use pass. It was so nice to soak in the tub!
We can’t wait to come back!

Lovely lavendar and exquisite views
Glamping on the lavendar farm was a dream. The views and stargazing opportunities were spectacular. Alan and Steffny were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to set us up for a fantastic weekend. Comfy beds, extra tables and chairs, and friendly pups were a bonus for us. The ranch was super close to the wonderous giant redwoods and I would love to go back again in the future. Highly recommend!

Steffny and her husband are a friendly pair and very welcoming. The setting is gorgeous and the smell of lavender greets you at every turn. It's quiet and facilities are all clean. FYI the bed in the 2nd tent is very high, though comfortable.

Beyond all expectations.
Images can not do justice to what Steffny and Alan have created. I do not remember the last time that I felt so relaxed, between the ever-present scent of lavender in the air the remote hillside location or the fact that there is nothing not taken care of at Running Springs Ranch. We forgot to give a heads up on what time we would arrive but were still warmly greeted by Alan and the two dogs, followed shortly by Ranger, their orange tabby cat. The two tents are extremely secluded from both one another and the main house, we stayed in the higher tent and if we did not want to we could have easily not seen anyone else our entire stay. Any time we would pass by Alan he would ask is there was anything we needed and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring that our stay was enjoyable - even to go so far as too ask if our car needed to be plugged in. I would strongly recommend waking up early as at sunrise the bees are in full force pollenating the lavender feels and both mornings we made our coffee and walked over the the fields to watch the sun rise over the hills to the gentle hum of the bees. These two have truly created something special and I can not wait to come back and visit again.

SO quiet! Glamping at its best
SO quiet! Comfortable bed in a very cute, comfortable tent. Short walk to drinking water, full bathroom, and washer & dryer. Wonderful campfire in full view of a clear canopy of stars. Friendly visits from curious cats and little dogs. Location is fenced all around; safe and sound. Short journey to redwood hiking and natural hot springs, longer, beautiful drive to Mendocino and Forte Bragg. Absolutely wonderful glamping!

I can’t wait to go back!!!
The ranch was so calm, quiet and peaceful! The bed was amazing! I need to know what brand it is! And we were treated so well! The furry friends were so sweet too and the view, gorgeous!! A great middle spot to visit all the surrounding towns. The bathroom was very convenient as well. I highly recommend this lovely ranch!! Oh and I’m using my lavender essential oil every day!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Unique and lovely experience!
We loved it so much! Steffny was so helpful with any questions prior to arriving. We didn’t meet her but Alan was very nice and helpful throughout our stay. He prepped our fire and helped us with any needs or questions. The property itself is very clean and beautiful. The tent decor is rustic and charming. The lavender fields were blooming and such a sight and smelled amazing. We got to also meet the furry family members Sophia, Brodie and Ranger. The best experience and can’t wait to come back again!

It was perfect!
It was perfect! Waking up to the bird songs, walking around in the lavender field, listening to the insect songs at night was truly a bliss. For the whole weekend, we were indulged in lavender’s fragrance. On the sunny day, bees were happily collecting the lavender nectar. The sunrise and sunset were especially gorgeous at the lavender field. The bathroom was super clean and true to and maybe even above the glamping criteria. 👍 I would recommend this experience to anyone who likes enjoying nature in comfort.

best glamping spot
My partner and I stayed here for two nights and it was wonderful! We arrived at around 7:30 pm on a Friday and was greeted by Alan, who showed us the bathroom in the house and then gave us and our gear a ride down to Site 2. The bathroom was super clean and there were towels/hand towels available for use. As others have mentioned, it is a bit of a walk/incline to get from Site 2 to the bathroom, but that wasn't a big deal to us. The tent itself was roomy, the bed was comfortable, and the view was gorgeous. I wish we'd had more time to relax and enjoy the property, but we spent an amazing Saturday in Mendocino and Fort Bragg (highly recommend making a trip out there!) At night, Alan prepared a campfire for us and it was the perfect end to our trip.
We did not meet Steffny, but shoutout to Alan for being a great host and making sure we had everything we needed!

Our second stay and loved every minute of the visit. Even the rain we had was lovely… listening to it at night in the tent, in a cosy bed. Communication was great, everything perfect clean, atmosphere and as beautiful and stylish. And hosts, can’t get any better. Thank you for a great second stay and already booking for #3!
