Learn more about this land: Urban camping spot with incredible views. Perfect for stealth vans and other smaller vehicles. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate travel trailers or Rvs at this time. Water, power, and sewer available. Property is close to freeways and stores. Also adjacent to nature preserve with moderate hiking trails, wildlife watching, and panoramic views. Site is at the top of a STEEP hill. Some maneuvering on your end will be required to get a vehicle in, but site is level once parked. Hookups are included but cannot be connected continuously. This is an URBAN camp spot meaning there will be some noise from the freeways and the city that's off in the distance. We live in a neighborhood so our neighbors sometimes make noise or have cars coming in and out.

Urban camp site with a view!
Great views, strange owners
My husband and I were looking for a Hipcamp to live out of for a month while we were in San Diego. The night we got there, we fell in love with the 360 views, the comfort of having an electric & water hookup, and the ability to order fresh eggs. We thought this was going to be a favorite spot. In the morning, I woke up to a camera pointed in my face. I quickly started getting messages asking about whose car was on property (even though I had 4 people & 2 cars on my res), asking my dog to be on leash (even though he was on a secured longer leash), etc. My point being, there was absolutely no privacy. We felt as if we were being watched every second. It made us very uncomfortable. In the second half of our stay, we had some other strange encounters with the owners and their children who were constantly passing our site and looking in. One of them being that Lisa had asked us to leave the Hipcamp because she thought that our dog was off leash. He had ran out of our trailer once but then was quickly leashed up. Other than that, we never had him off leash on their property. There was also a time where Lisa and I had scheduled to meet up so that I could run some questions by her. I had commuted in the rain to make our meeting only to be stood up. I say all of this to say that this place would be great if you are looking for just a stop and go, otherwise, the constant hawking, feelings of discrimination, and rude exchanges urge me to warn others to steer clear.

Urban camp site with a view!
Views of the city and easy access.
Was a great spot. Easy access in to the town via a short lyft to the trolley station. Then on to anywhere. View was perfect. Water and electric hookups were great. Good signal on the phone. Hosts were very easy to deal with. Take it slow up the road. It’s steep.

Urban camping !
Beautiful spot in the hills of San Diego, it is an urban camp spot, so there are houses to your right and left, we were there for one whole week in our rooftop tent and weren’t bothered by either neighbor. For tent campers the ground is gravel so make sure you have a mat or blow up mattress and I can see it being hard to set up a tent here, (FYI) Lisa and Phil were great hosts and I will book again if I’m in the San Diego area for work, they offered fresh eggs in the morning and also had electricity up there for us! (Bathrooms down the road about 2 minute drive in the mornings)

More privacy on a roadside
Would not stay here again. Firstly, if you arrive at night the location is pretty confusing since it was mostly coned off from entry. Also, there is NO privacy. People are parked to your right, left, and behind you. There's a two story house to the right with security lights on all night (and about five cars parked in it, people constantly walking around) and a cliff to your left, which you'd assume would allow privacy, except they've pointed a CAMERA directly at the parking spot. Literally, there's a camera watching your car the entire time. We found this very uncomfortable. If you like to pay $25 to feel like you're being watched with a beautiful view, this is for you. Otherwise, I'd avoid.

Not that private but great views!
Overall this spot is as advertised. The site felt much less private than the pictures portrayed, though, so if you are sensitive to light at night and/or ambient noise from the sweeping cityscape below you may not feel cozy here. The views from the site and the hike across the street were pretty spectacular 🙌🏼

What a great little place to camp. The road is steep and there is indeed a little dip to the gravel pad.....bit very cool to be able to chill there for a few days. No worries about anyone messing with your site either....it's far out if the way.... thanks so much !!!!

Amazing urban camping up the craziest hill you’ve ever seen — feels like you’re literally at the top of the city. Perfect level spot, good for our small camper van. Felt very safe. Dictionary Hill hiking trail is right across the street. Lisa was very responsive to messages and requests. If you’ve gotta be in SD but want to feel like you’re in nature, this is your spot!

A view from the top!
Lisa's set up a great little spot with all the hookups you need right there. It's located at the top of a big hill and the view is amazing, especially at sunset. It's quite steep to get down to the parking pad - my backend is quite low and I have hitch that's even lower, so it was a bit of a struggle, but I was able to parallel park on a level spot at the top. I also appreciate that Lisa was very responsive when I had questions.

Stunning panoramic view of greater San Diego from this spot; we’ll marked, hillside park across the street (good for dogs). Spot is at the top of long, steep hill - your rig will groan all the way up at 4mpg, but so worth the journey!

Lisa's spot was just as advertised....beautiful view close to the city. The pad is level and not really difficult to get onto. We have a 170ext Sprinter and it wasnt a problem at all. She even has 50 amp power, water and a sewer drain that she let us use. Highly recommend!
