Fall asleep next to the water
Nora and Scott's land offers a unique and memorable experience for future Hipcampers. Here are some key highlights to expect:
Remote Location: The land is tucked away in a remote area, providing a sense of seclusion and tranquility. It's an ideal destination for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Comfortable Amenities: Despite its remote setting, the land offers comfortable amenities to ensure a pleasant stay. Scott provides firewood, making it easy to stay warm and cozy during chilly nights. This thoughtful provision eliminates the need to gather firewood yourself.
Stunning Campsites: The campsites on Nora and Scott's land are situated near a picturesque creek that transforms into a lively and captivating rapid river. The soothing sounds of the rushing streams create a serene ambiance, allowing campers to fall asleep to the calming melody of nature. Additionally, being surrounded by the beauty of nature, including the starry night sky, enhances the overall camping experience.
Passionate Landowners: Nora and Scott have a genuine passion for their land and the community. They are committed to revitalizing the area by fostering a sense of community through camping and shared experiences. Their desire to build a vibrant community is evident in their efforts to bring people together around a campfire and enjoy delicious pizza. This communal aspect adds an extra layer of warmth and connection to the camping experience.

I loved tent camping on Nora and Scott’s land. We were right next to the creek, and the sound of the water was really calming and easy to sleep. Scott was very accommodating. Four plus hour drive, and it was definitely worth it

Scott was absolutely so welcoming and lovely! The land is well taken care of. We really didn’t need to bring half of what we did because they had already supplied it! He made sure to check on us every day and keep us supplied with firewood. The views, the comfort of feeling safe and camping at the same time is indescribable. We brought our 9 month old son with us. Camping with a baby can be hard but the shower, outdoor kitchen and all the accommodations made it such a breeze for us! We will be back for sure!

Remote and beautiful stay
Scott was a great host and we had a wonderful stay at Stoney Meadows. The written directions were very accurate and useful, since there is no cell reception for 20 miles. We arrived on a rainy day and were glad we had a truck/4wd for the last mile (although after the road dried out it was totally fine). The campsites are right next to the creek, which was definitely full and swift from the recent rains (probably not swimmable for the foreseeable future). The communal kitchen has everything you could possibly need, including a sink/hot water, grill, utensils, toaster, even a microwave! The staff at the local Pit store (a few miles down the road) were super helpful and friendly. We had a great time!

Night sky, burbling creek & animals
Scott and Nora have a beautifully, wonderful ranch with well laid out amenities.
Before describing the site more, I want to say that when they tell you to follow the directions that are sent with your booking, and not from a mapping program, they really, really mean it. I took a screenshot of the directions and kept re-reading them. The ranch is remote and the road is rough is spots, but my low clearance Prius navigated it just fine.
We camped in a tent by the creek, on the sandy beach. It is dusty/sand so be sure to bring a ground cloth. The creek was running high due to snow melt (note, this was April) creating a lullaby to send us to sleep each night.
We brought all kinds of camping and cooking gear, then decided to mostly use the common cooking area with it's own bbq and grill. Plus clean-up was a snap at the kitchen sink.
On the ranch are llamas, a donkey, a mini-horse, and cattle. There were also at least three free-roaming dogs that mostly kept to themselves, but I kept my dog on leash 24/7 as she would have loved to chase all the farm animals around the property.
Scott was a lovely, gracious host who covered everything we needed and enjoyed sharing the history of ranch and Nora was excellent at communicating with us. If we return to this region of Cali, we'll definitely stay there again!

Free range llamas
Fair warning about the road- the last mile or so is a pretty bad dirt mountain road - we pulled our tent trailer with some hesitancy but a bigger trailer would have a rough time. But overall it was awesome, near the river with a communal kitchen and real shower/bathroom. Beautiful property with some free range llamas and their dogs would come say hi. If all sites were occupied would be a little crowded for my taste though.

Very special place!
Their description was spot on. It’s a lovely place and very peaceful. You need not bring anything for cooking since the kitchen is complete and they’ve gone out of their way to provide everything else that you need whether tent camping or renting one of their cabins. Great hosts. They can point you to nearby wild Hot Springs and up into their property to a very deep swimming hole. Charming all around.

Peaceful days by the singing creek
Nora and Scott were wonderfully welcoming, generous, and thoughtful hosts, who anticipated my every need as a solo tent camper, and then some. Their farm and camp sites are bucolic and peaceful, and the well-stocked kitchen and bathroom set-up made tent camping uncommonly comfortable and convenient. Their beautiful garden provided me with a delicious cantaloupe and fall plums. I hope to return with friends and family in tow, as it looks like a the cabins provide a fun setting for group activities, too.

Great Hosts!
Nora and Scott were super friendly and hospitable, and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The forest around the camp is gorgeous, and every camp or cabin site that I saw was close to the river, which I loved. Within a 30-minute walk were the natural hot springs that are heavenly to relax in. I would definitely come back, and would encourage everyone to check it out.

We wished we could stay longer!
The property is stunning. The morning sun on Nora and Scott's meadow and the river by the campsite are breathtaking. We only stayed one night due to our agenda, but the three of us guests all agreed we'd need to stay at least two nights in order to see all the property has to offer. Scott's built some incredible amenities, including a nice bathroom, shower, full outdoor kitchen, and the coolest cabins (we camped outside). Plus, Scott and Nora are so fun! We'll be back!

Love Nora and Scott
We loved staying at Scott and Nora!! The property is very beautiful, with all required amenties as mentioned. They are responsive, helpful, friendly and an absolutely delightful couple. The ranch has ponies, llamas and goats that you can feed fruits to. We also bought the amazing Nora's organic fruit jams made of plums and strawberries from their very own garden! At night, you can stargaze at this beautiful ranch by the campfire. It might get harder to get to but it is totally worth it!

Felt like summer camp!
Nora and Scott seriously went above and beyond to make this an incredible trip for my sister and I! The property is located on a breathtaking ranch full of farm animals as well as fruits and veggies that filled their garden. The creekside camping is conveniently located right along the creek and is just by where you park your vehicle. The first night Scott helped my sister and I use the pizza oven to cook our homemade pizza and it was absolutely magical. I brought my Mini Golden Doodle and he got along with their ranch dog Cocoa so well! This spot is only one mile down the road from taking a quarter of a mile hike to Hunt Hot Spring, which makes it easy to hit early in the morning when no one is there! Scott and Nora brought all the campers together and made it easy to make friends with our camp neighbors! We can't wait to stay here again, and thank Nora and Scott for all their hospitality, it felt like we were part of the family! They even sent us off with corn, squash, and plums picked fresh from their garden! <3 We will be back soon! Thank you!!!

Wow! A unique packed experience
If you are on the fence about booking this site, I recommend booking it! Scott and Nora are lovely hosts who are experienced in hosting guests. We stayed in the Creekside Bunkhouse and it was just what we needed: a homey accommodation with two sleeping arrangements (one for me and one for my boyfriend). There are so many photo opps at this location - the scenic river and mountains, farm animals, and their lovely garden. We booked 3 nights for Labor Day weekend and we did not want to leave!
The kitchen is easy-to-use and organized. Scott’s pizza oven is legit! And wow the stars are amazing at this site. Location is prime for Burney Falls and Lake Briton which is about 1 hour away. Hunt Hot Springs is 7 minutes away.
Be sure to download an offline Google Map before arriving as there is sure no WiFi. :)
100% is a must-book if you are looking for amazing location, hosts, and a nature experience!!

A slice of paradise
We are hesitant to write this review as we selfishly want to keep it all to ourselves and our inner circle. But word will get out that this has to be one of the best campsites and overall outdoor experiences near Mount Shasta. Especially if you have small children this place will not disappoint with its friendly farm animals, wild fruit picking, creek side playing, and a local swimming hole. The hosts are attentive without being overbearing. They’ve thought of everything to make your stay comfortable along with homemade jams in the fridge to enjoy with morning hot cakes. Coco the dog will sweetly visit and enjoy an occasional pet and the goat will say hello and spend some time hanging with the kids. Make sure you walk around the property and enjoy the animals, blackberries in season, and the pigs, cows, and llamas. We were so happy and will come back again to enjoy this delightful place.
