This is a quiet forested residential area in Sinixt territory. Recommended activities include floating down the river, canoeing the lake, hiking or climbing in Valhalla Park, soaking in Halfway Hot Springs or indulging in Nelson. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers. This valley has many outdoor activities and events and a very interesting history and culture including Sinixt, Doukhobor, Cannabis and Conscientious Objector. Nelson, Castlegar and Slocan Lake are all a half hour drive away. There are many other special places nearby such as the Goddess Pools and the Emerald Pools. Supplies and services are available nearby including firewood, toiletries, dog day care, massage, bike and canoe rentals, life jackets, rubber dingys and paddles etc. There are many guides available for activities in the area including (water sports, climbing, skiing, hiking, artist tours, events, geology, mining, mushrooms, cannabis, garden tours and native history). There is a particularly valued native storyteller here that can also provide a walking tour to a nearby village site with a full scale replica of an aboriginal kekuli (earth house). Please call ahead for recommendations on booking guides or storytellers. You don't need one to get here, but its good to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for some of the logging roads that are worth visiting. Roof and/or bike racks can also come in handy. The Vallican Whole community centre has events nearby.

Tom has created such a beautiful, welcoming and happy space!!The campsite we stayed at was super well covered and shaded which was nice in this heat and it was set up with everything we needed (picnic table, benches, etc). The communal kitchen and bathroom are so clean, well kept and work so well because of how Tom has set it up. Really appreciate what he's done here and highly recommend for anyone wanting to have a wonderful base space to rest their heads and recharge after exploring the beautiful Valhalla area!! Thanks Tom you rock!!

Camping the Valhalla in pines!
Valhalla Pines Resort in absolutely fabulously fantastic, a campers dream. Our spot was perfect for our needs, the community house is great, nice place to wash dishes, get on the (fast) Internet, and chat with fellow campers. Cannot say enough good things about Tom the host. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and wants his guests to enjoy themselves. The resort is off the beaten path but it is well marked and Tom’s directions were spot on.

Camping in woods near Slocan
Distinctive camping experience in the woods with options for those wanting a more communal atmosphere or staying further off. Community house has options for cooking inside in bad weather, info on local things to do, and place to meet others. Various options on toilets and showers (from dry toilet and outside shower to very clean indoor flush toilets and showers). Good vibes overall.

Great camping spot
Valhalla Pines is a great place to camp. The communal kitchen is amazing. Clean washrooms and showers. Met some great people playing music around the campfire in the evening. Tom is an excellent host, responds quickly and is very kind and helpful. We will be coming back next year for sure.

Lovely campsite and host
We had a lovely stay at the campground. It's nicely located in the woods and there is a beautiful community house where you could cook and chill. It was pooring rain when we arrived so we had to wait out the rain, while we waited for the rain to stop Tom already send us a email that we also could pitch up our tent at another pitch with a canopy.

Tree Hut with a Queen Sized Bed
We really enjoyed our stay in the Tree Hut and Toms campsite. The shared facilities are great, especially the hammocks!
