The Summer brings new perspectives with the changing colors of nature or gathering around a fire on a cool evening. You can also use the Mountain Camp as home base for the many destinations within an hour of our location, Cumberland Falls, Big South Fork, Big South Fork Scenic Railway, Daniel Boone National Forest, and many more returning home each day to friends, a campfire, and sharing your experiences. We have many trails along the mountain for your private hike. You can also hike or drive to the Cumberland River on our 212 ac property. The Mountain Primitive Camp is private with a gate and gravel road right to your campsite under the trees. The campsite is in the forest without the public. If your looking for a place to relax without anyone else around this is the spot for you. Self-reliance and the solitude of being in a remote area of our forest attracts dispersed campers year round. The Mountain Camp is a haven to many species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and other wildlife including: black bears, deer, bobcats, chipmunks, squirrels, elk, fox, shrews, voles, opossums, skunks, raccoons, rabbits, wild turkeys, woodchucks, songbirds, hawks, owls, eagles, ... Yes you may bring your dog! You will be able to pick your campsite. One (1) sleeping tent per campsite and up to (4) four per one tent. If you wish to add additional sleeping tent they must book a separate campsite.

What an awesome experience! We decided to stay at Patrick & Angelicas compound/campground after deciding not to stay at the gorge (too over crowded). And boy are we glad we chose to stay here! It’s off the beaten path off of beautiful KY country roads, easy to get too, and directions are easily followed. The whole property is a couple hundred acres, and the owners have LOTS of different areas for campers! Once we arrived, Patrick and Angelica were ready and waiting to take us to our camp site. We came with our pop up camper, and chose to do primitive camping. So they took us down the road to a gated off piece of property, and we followed the trail all the way to the top of a mountain, where we camped all weekend. The campground is very spacious and dispersed where we were at. Even if there were other campers, we wouldn’t have known! There are options to stay next to the Cumberland river, down by the main area of the campground. Those sites have water, electric, and nice little areas for tents! The river is amazing, and so peaceful. The main area of the campground has showers, bathrooms, kayaks, a whole area with hammocks to relax, a pool table and more. SO nice! There is a hemp field we took a tour of, and the owner Patrick, was SO wonderful and informative. The entire experience was nothing but amazing! If you are looking for a fun, adventurous, but also relaxing and deep into the KY Appalachian Mountains, this ones for you! The Cumberland river is so peaceful, you can almost imagine what life would have been like when the Indians roamed hundreds of years ago. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed!

Thank you for taking time to leave this kind feedback. We appreciate you passing on all the positive things you said about our little camp along the river. And we look forward to you visiting us again in the future. We have had so many "Gorge" campers just like yourself stay with us this season and each has said the Gorge is over crowed. They have found that our Daniel Boone National Forest hiking trails or kayaking the Upper Cumberland or visiting Cumberland Falls State Park or the Natural Arch or Big South Fork National Park to name a few close to Patrick's Point are not crowded. Your always welcome as we would say in the Kentucky Mountains "Y'all come back now, y'hear."

We’ve stayed at Patrick’s Point several times over the past year with each experience getting better than the last. We returned to the mountain top for a primitive stay on a warm August weekend. New this stay was a delicious warm Costa Rican breakfast and coffee prepared by Angelica. The food was absolutely amazing and we savored every bite. We will absolutely be getting her Gallo Pinto breakfast again. As always, the hosts are incredibly kind, personable and a delight to talk to. We always appreciate their recommendations around the area and finally enjoyed the hike on a nearby property.

Great secluded camp! Even if all the spots were full it would still fell extremely private. Dennis was a great host showed me around the property and told me where to watch the sunset. Will absolutely be back to this great growing campsite.

Patrick and Angelica were lovely hosts! So friendly and very accommodating. Angelica even brought me fresh baked Costa Rican bread - absolutely delicious and such a nice surprise. The campsites were very nice - secluded and secure - and the nearby trails made for nice hiking! Would recommend!

My boyfriend and I stayed out there only for a night and wished that we could have stayed longer. It was very beautiful scenery and the wild life was exciting to see and hear. Our Host was so very friendly; we appreciated his welcoming attitude and recommendations for things to do while we were there. Kayaking the river will be our next adventure! ;) We will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend!

You two are always welcome to come back anytime. I appreciate your time in giving us a great review. It was nice to meet both of you. Our Kentucky Barn is also used as a wedding venue "just saying." Take care and thank you again for picking our little camp.
