Places to see near Patrick's Point River Camp
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Patrick took us to a beautiful spot by the river under a lovely canopy of trees and we were delighted! It was nice and secluded with no hookups but we were in a popup with our battery and propane. We were in town from Memphis for a Jeep Jam, but stayed an extra day to explore his trails on over 200 acres. Had a great day exploring so many of his very secluded spots and cabins! Climbed his mountain and relaxed in his hammocks up there! Patrick and his wife are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and no matter what kind of camping you do, they have a spot youll love.
Worth the detour
Great place to stay if you’re traveling anywhere in the area of Cumberland gap. This place is worth a detour great view, beautiful atmosphere, fantastic hosts (who will bring you stuff with the tractor)!!
Best home base for cumberland trip
This is an absolutely beautiful area, and a such a happy place to stay. Angelica and Patrick were generous and lovely hosts, gave great suggestions on places to go and things to see, and have created campsites that feel at once secluded and close to meticulously-clean bathrooms, showers, and large covered pavilion. Angelica's Costa Rican breakfast is absolutely delicious, one of our best memories from our trip (and there are many). Our campsite was right next to the Cumberland River, and though we were in the area for work, we just can't wait to stay at Cumberland River Tree Canopy again for all the paddling and hiking that's available in the area.
Relaxing solo visit
As a solo traveller, I loved Patrick’s Point.
The hot breakfast is what sold me, and delighted me in the morning.
It’s also not often one gets to camp right by the river! I love this place!
Clean restrooms, hot showers, lots of toys, music, good vibes. What’s not to like? Book with confidence!
A must-stay campground!
Dennis and Angelica were great hosts! They were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Their property has it all: kayaks, walk/bike trails, ping pong table, books, hammocks and much more! Plenty of flush toilets available and near the barn there are two showers with great water pressure and hot water. We only stayed one night but will be back! 10/10 recommend staying here and opting for the costa rican breakfast!
Beautiful, shady riverside camping
Patrick, Angelica, and Skye (their pup) were excellent hosts! We stayed in a tent site with our two young kids and the hosts went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. The tent sites include a fire ring, picnic table, and trash can and we were just a quick walk to the bathrooms, showers, water, and barn. The barn was full of games and seating. There is fishing available along the river, hiking throughout Patrick’s property, and it’s a 20 minute drive to visit Cumberland Falls. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area!
First stay at patrick’s point.
The tree canopy was awesome, on a smothering hot day, you’re covered with a cool breeze from the river, and the coverage from a blanket of trees. Peaceful, relaxing, short walk down to the river to float fish, or just sit down and take it all in.
Our host were super friendly, and very attentive to our many questions about our trip, floating down the river, it was a first time trip for our kids floating the river, staying here, but not our last, We’ll definitely be back, soon.
Fantastic, friendly and fun
I absolutely loved every moment of this camping experience. I want to camp to get away from it all and relax. This location fit that bill to a T. I camped here with my two sons, 6 and 17 and they had a great time.
I liked the layout of the camp. We had the last site on the rivers edge and even though we were the only campers there at the time I do feel we still would have had a lot of privacy and relaxation. Going to sleep to the symphony of bugs, frogs and birds was more than I could have hoped for. They are loud and constant but it definitely gave us a great nights sleep.
The location on the river let us relax in the water and enjoy the cold water.
There are several bathroom options. There is the dual bathrooms with showers. Two outdoor showers with steaming hot water was a nice touch as well. A large bathroom inside the barn meant there was never going to be a problem with issues like that. All of the bathrooms were immaculate and well cared for.
The open air barn with games like ping pong, basketball, pawn darts and others was great.
By far the best thing about this location was Patrick and Angelica. Friendly and accommodating does not even begin to describe these wonderful people. Anything we needed or thought we needed we had. Local attractions, directions and ideas Patrick was quick to share. They do offer a Costa Rican breakfast which we opted for on the last day, which was exceptional. These are just fantastic people and you can see it in their attitude and the way these camps are maintained.
My six year old was in heaven catching his first bass in the fishing pond. Again Patrick went out of his way, actually stopped working to help him catch his fish.
Overall this is one of the best camping experiences we have had camping in a long time. I would come back here again without question.
Peaceful and perfect
We loved our stay at Patrick’s Point! Our campsite was private and spacious but also close to restrooms and showers. It was prefect! We used the shuttle service for the 14 mile kayak trip which was perfect. We were able to get shuttled nice and early so we could start our full day trip.
