Selkirk mountain range beauty
I just wish we could have stayed longer. We rented the lodge and a Teepee and did not use the Teepee because some family didn't end up coming. It was a rustic camping lodge, not an all amenities lodge which was just fine for us. Just bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, etc. We have a tall trailer so tree branches were a bit of an issue, and road work and logging were some obstacles, but enjoying this private piece of heaven in the Selkirk Mountain Range was worth the few drawbacks. Upon our late arrival the vaulted toilets were smelly, but it had been hot that day. The next morning the camp host was super helpful to direct us to the locker room style bathroom equipped with 6 showers and 2 flushing toilets. It could use a mirror or two and there's only one bathroom so men and women share...good thing my family were the only ones using it, except for the first morning when someone else poked their head in and I quickly asked them to please wait. Perhaps bathroom time slots could be assigned to each Teepee and lodge renters in the future when it gets busier? The large outdoor kitchen was a definite plus. Nothing was fancy, but it was very functional and appreciated. Private bathrooms, private outdoor kitchen, lodge, teepee, trees, trails, and my family...it was perfection. I was raised on 100's of acres as a farm kid so this place brought back some wonderful memories. The other side of the property had an overgrown garden, log homes, basketball court, baseball diamond, and a gigantic lodge. I wanted to get my hands in the dirt of that garden...maybe next time they will let me!
It sounds like the new owner has an incredible vision with this property. Overall, I am very thankful for this fair priced getaway and I hope to get to visit again.
