This is an off-grid property that I'm beginning to develop into a ranch. Spartan accommodations at the moment, but beautiful surroundings.

The general area is a lake valley; the public north beach of Bear Lake is ten minutes away. The surrounding mountains and national forest offer excellent hiking, ATV, mountain bike, snowmobile trails. Rentals for these activities are available in the town of Bloomington, less than ten minutes away.

The property itself is situated among working cattle ranches. If you find cow poop, mosquitos, or dust horrifying, this place probably isn't for you. With that warning out of the way, we offer:

42 acres of wonderful peace and quiet. The only sound in the morning will be the chirping of the birds and the chatter of the horses and distant cows. The rooster will let you know when the sun is up.

On the property you're welcome to shoot archery, throw horseshoes, stick your feet in the creek, and photograph the wildlife. There is often a pair or more of bald eagles hanging out in the cottonwoods.

Power? I have a small solar setup that you are welcome to use for charging phones etc.

Bathrooms? Outhouse. It is literally a bucket and sawdust. If this ain't for you, this ain't for you.

Shower? Camp shower.

WiFi? Haha, nice try. There is good cell service from Verizon and AT&T however.

Food prep: I have available a fire pit, a wood stove with a cooking top, and a deck area with counter-height eating surfaces.

Extremely beautiful, serene, spacious property with dispersed camping and unobstructed views of the sunrise and sunset. Description and photos are accurate. Charlie and his animals are pleasantly welcoming and hospitable. Location is perfect for Bear Lake day trips and Idaho exploration. We will be back.

One of the best camping trips we have been on! Charlie is an amazing host. My son loved it so much he asked me if we could connect our home to our camp trailer and take it to Charlie's forever...The imagination of a 6 year old. Lol
The property is absolutely beautiful. 40+ acres surrounded by other properties so you dont need to worry about neighbors. There is a little river that flows through the property that's surrounded by cattails. Something the littles can splash in or you can take the opportunity to get some scenic photos.
If you dont have a love for animals this isn't the place for you. In the evening the horses get to roam. They would come up, check out the camp and let you pet them. Adi, one of the two pup's was a frequent at our spot. He would greet us when we returned and spend most of the evening playing with kids or laying out in the field guarding the family from the coyotes you can hear off in the distance (never saw one, can only hear them..dont freak out moms, your kids are safe).
Charlie was great with the kids. He has a rockwall set up and some large haybales for archery. One evening he even took the time to teach a handful of curious kids how to milk a goat and was patient enough to let them try. We invited charlie up to our spot a few nights for some drinks and dinner.. he's talented with the guitar and can sing too.
To get to North Beach Bear lake it was a 10 minute drive from Charlie's. Absolutely recommend this spot, it will be our forever camping spot for Bear Lake.

Charlie is an excellent host, went out of his way to make our stay great. He set up a target so we could shoot some arrows, has a rock climbing wall that's fun for kids. We even forgot our tent poles and he provided us with one of his own.
