If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had a nice, peaceful stay at Ken's place. He was a very welcoming host and walked us around the property making sure we knew where everything was when we got there. Our site was right next to the creek which was as described: tranquil. The only drawback was the amount of mosquitoes present, but of course that is to be expected by a creek. We did have bug spray (only half strength), but it was no match for the suckers (pun intended). I would suggest to not let the mosquitoes deter you, but learn from our mistake and bring the full strength bug spray. Despite that we thoroughly enjoyed use of the kitchen area, snacking on some raspberries and snap peas in the garden, and walking around on the trails Ken created in this lovely space. We would recommend this place to anyone who really wants to get away from it all, but also be only a short drive away from the local offerings.
Ken’s land is such a special utopia - beauty and serenity abound! We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time walking his handmade trails and exploring the property. Thank you for sharing your land with us, Ken! Can’t wait to come back.
A remote bit of forest beauty.
It was remote and quiet. The camp was private and right beside a creek. The peaceful sound was a big plus when going to sleep. It was as close to a 2 day hike in that a person could wish for without it being a 2 day hike in. Beautiful paths to explore and fantastic communication with host.
Will be returning!
This place was amazing! From the start Ken was a joy to work with. He communicated everything that we needed to know leading up to the trip and was there to greet us when we arrived. The camp spot was very private, tranquil and even better that the pictures. There was wood ready for us and the spot was clean and had everything that we needed. It rained our 1st night but Spot #1 had great tree coverage so our tent did not get pounded on all night. There were a few mosquitoes but natural repellent worked great.
There are beautiful lush trails to hike on and fresh raspberries to pick as you hike right next to the creek. Spot #2 was open so we hiked over to it on day 2 and used the hammock, played games and had a picnic on the raised platform.
Saturday afternoon we went into town and went to Squeeze Inn. We will defiantly be returning. Beautiful gardens with art and truly amazing food.
All in all I would 100% recommend this spot and we will be returning to it again!
Private but primitive, nice spot
Nice spot by the creek, somewhat primitive. It would have been nice ti have running potable water and be able to have a campfire. Bring your insect repellent, it’s located in Mosquito Road for a real reason.
Camping near clark fork
Ken's campsite was one of the most magical places I've been lucky enough to camp. We had plenty of privacy but Ken was also very sociable and Zipper the pup loved us throwing the frisbee. Add this campsite to your list ASAP! You absolutely won't regret it!
Site 2 is right by the river, making for a wonderful nights sleep on a wonderfully manicured campsite. There was a nice fire pit, table, hammocking trees, as well as an ax and plenty of wood for your chopping delight.
Ken has plenty of property to explore from a wonderful organic garden to trails through the national forest. I will definitely be camping at Cascadia Permaculture Center again, as well as checking out his other cabin and campsite as well!
Super majestic, cozy, friendy spot!
The property is absolutely gorgeous - even covered in snow (bring snowshoes if it’s still winter)! This is a really special spot and so well loved. The humans and animals are exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Especially cuddly Ozzy the cat. I wish I could have stayed longer and will definitely come back!
