We were so grateful to have found Hipcamp and Brian’s hidden camping gem. I’ve lived in Idaho for 14 years and haven’t had a problem finding a camp site. We decided to take a last minute family camping trip. I was so relieved to find these sites. Brian was super responsive. We had a bit of a challenge finding the sites in the dark. It is definitely a back in site. No pull throughs.
We had pretty good shade and was far enough from 55 that the road noise wasn’t terrible.
We decided to check out Blue Lake. Carbarton Road is just a few miles from the sites.

The land is very spacious and super nice if you like a good prairie. (Please be aware it is very dry grass and very dusty. We were not aware and therefore, not prepared for this).
The camp spots, however, are closer together than advertised. When choosing your site on the map at booking, the numbers are not accurately placed. When you arrive, the sites are close instead of further like the map shows at booking. We had other campers around us and could see into the other campers sites.
The highway is also very close so please be aware of this if you have dogs. It made for some good white noise during the night though!
There are also neighbors across the highway who have dogs that bark frequently in the early morning hours.
We loved that our pups could be off leash and we loved being able to explore a new area of Idaho. We just wish the listing was a little bit more accurately described so we knew what we were preparing for.
I really liked the seclusion of this spot. No one else was camping there. We were so close to either reservoirs, you could do whatever you want to. Herrick reservoir was great for kayaking and utv trails and horse thief was great for fishing. We caught a bunch of rainbow trout. Overall really great place to camp.

Hi Kissy, Thanks for the feedback. I have updated the listing to include your comments. The property map within the app makes it difficult to pinpoint the camp spots. We are continuing to push in more roads, bring in gravel (to keep dust down) and create more exclusive spots that will allow guests to utilize the entire 23 acres.
