Kalei was very responsive. This is a working farm, not a glam location. That said, there is no one there but the animals so it’s very private and beautiful. If you’re going to camp, bring a cushy mattress or mat.

So conveniently located in the heart of Hilo, but yet a feeling of being removed. Kalei was such a thoughtful host! She gave us a treat bag with some local macadamia snacks & candy, a Hawaiian lanyard & calendar. The site had a flush toilet & sink, a covered space to cook/sit & eat, a camp stove w/ gas, paper plates & silverware, salt & pepper, etc. She gave a lot of attention to details like hand sanitizer, mosquito coils, etc.
