Cabin camping fun getaway
Our stay was great! Accomidations were as specified and just what we were looking for. Beth was quickly responsive for anything we needed. The familys hospitality opening up their property, welcoming us to enjoy their farm and access to enjoy all the animals was a wonderful bonus :)
Rustic back ache
Upon arrival we noticed the grounds were well maintained and was spacious with a beautiful layout . The cabin is rustic as can be which reminds us of a hunting lodge. We were looking to meet Beth, but as someone previously stated she didn't show up or come say hello.. We read so many good things on this place an were looking forward to it. Although there was no windows in the openings just screen that was not fully tacked down, the front door did not close fully that left a 1" gap around the door needless to say it didn't lock either. The lighting inside at night was non existant and the cabin itself had only a single electrical plug running everything in the cabin that surged from time to time. The bed upstairs in the loft was a mat about 3" thick and flat as a pancake. The night was full of tossing and turning getting ate by mosquitos . The 2nd day we were there friends of the owners family decided to go shooting guns right next to the cabin directly by the outhouse. I have a 9 year old and a 5 year old with us. The main reason we went here is so my son can fish as he wanted to do some fishing somewhere different. Meanwhile when they were shooting
which is next to the pond, we left the property to go get some lunch along with my mother an father came out to celebrate my sons birthday with us. That evening we decided not to stay that night so we could get some sleep.
There was no picnic table,
No hammock (was rotten in half)
The pond had alot of weeds around it an not manicured like the photos indicate.
There was No Pontoon base to fish off of like the photos show.
The tractor was not there as we wanted to take some pictures with it.
The matress that was supposed to be upstairs was not there but yet replaced with a 3" mat.
The blankets that were in the chest smell like it was pulled from a mildew filled house.
overall its a rustic cabin, with no tv and have to keep busy outside or you will loose interest quickly. we were forced to be indoors the first evening as it was pouring down rain. i love the place and the layout but i think it could have atleast resembled what was advertised.
Beautiful place but not for amateur
It was our first time camping trip so it may have impacted our opinion since everybody reviews it as amazing experience.
The door wasn't closing, and as I said, it was our very first camping so we were scared of insects or snakes coming in. Also, the kaiaks and boat were all upside down and when we tried to use it, it was so dirt like it was there forever with no use. We tried to boat and when we turned it upside, there's a anthill inside of it. We tried to wash the ants away to boat at least one time, since we were talking about it with the kids since we booked the cabin. In the middle of the lake we needed to rush out bc there was still a lot of ants and the kids got so scared.
The firepit where we were supposed to cook was upside down as well and when we turned it upside, it was so dirt like it was there forever. As I said, we were first time campers so I don't know if we need to do everything by ourselves as we did or the hostings had a bad week and just didn't care to set some things up neither say hello as they seen to do with everybody but us
This was magical stay for us! The cabin was cozy and charming with everything needed for a comfortable “glamping” experience. Beth and her family along with all of the friendly animals were the greatest hosts! Including the people friendly raccoon, Rocket. Would highly recommend this stay for anyone seeking a rustic experience immersed in nature.
Exactly as described yet more than
The cabin at WDFarms was the perfect little getaway. Close to everything yet tucked away secluded enough to feel of the grid. So much nostalgia with the antique barn tack and equipment used as decor, it really bright me back to a time even life seemed much simpler. My children (and I) loved all the animals on the property too. The children found much entertainment with the goats, geese and especially the morning visits from the horses!! Mr. Bojangles (aka Bo) was one of my favorites. This was our first time using a composting (pellet) outhouse and I was quite surprised how well it all works. The hosts are quick to respond if needed and my children also enjoyed the visits from their children as well.
The farm with great charm.
We had an Ammazing time on the farm! Really enjoyed relaxing by the pond. Only reason to leave was to go get icecream. Beth, her family, and animals are so accommodating. Majesty, Romeo, goats, geese and 🐕 are great hosts.
Beyond peaceful and beautiful
This place was amazing the pictures do not do it justice! Also our host were awesome they gave us so much privacy but also kept in great communication, i really enjoyed having a fire going and a few beers and holding good conversation with them! Definitely want to go back!
