I loved this place! I just needed a place to car camp for a couple nights near Orlando and while this was great for that it was upsetting because it just made me wish I had more time here! This is such a gorgeous property and it was a great way to wake up and not at all far from Disney (plus way cheaper than staying there!). I didn’t get to meet Scott but he was still attentive and helpful over texts so I felt very welcomed! I will definitely be returning and making time to take advantage of all the gorgeousness on this property.
400 acres of awesomeness
This was my first Hipcamp experience and WOW WOW WOW! I loved it. Glad I had a 4X4 because it’s a bit off-roading. This property has a bunch of orange groves even though I went in low season or when the oranges had already dropped. There are two huge lakes, incredible trees and forests. There’s even a gazebo where you could host a large group. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. It was exactly what I was looking for.
This a great place if you want a nice break and time with nature. You have a view of the water and orange groves all around. We saw plenty of wildlife, and there room to hike around. Scott was a very polite host and the site feels very private. The only slight issue is its hard to find a level spot to park and it very sandy area especially on the drive in. This aside it was a great stay and a beautiful property. My tips are to bring stuff for insects, and a long extension cord to reach the hookup.
Beautiful site, don’t miss this!
Host was awesome! Secluded with wide open view of a beautiful lake. 2 resident Florida Sandhill cranes provided entertainment along with a little blue heron, limpet bird, bald eagle, osprey, raccoons and a big turtle and one otter that we saw for about 2 seconds. Water and 110 outlet, fire pit. Atmospheric Spanish moss on beautiful oak trees all surrounded by gorgeous orange trees. Highly recommend! We will be back!
Wonderful stay, beautiful beyond!
McKinnon Farms were a little bit of paradise on earth. First time using hipcamp and I have to be honest I was skeptical but Scott’s place instantly made all those thoughts go away.
Not only is every corner of this because land beautiful you can park your camper right on the lake. Sunsets and the smell of the oranges made it even more special.
We had our pups and they were so happy. We were happy and Scott was wonderful, helpful and helped us even though we arrived late.
15/10 and will 100% be back. Big bonus for us was that Disney was only 25 mins away too.
*only suggestion was to make sure you pack bug spray like anywhere in Florida! It helped massively in nature.
Had a wonderful stay at the property. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. The orange and pine trees were beautiful to walk through. Scott had an extension cord for us to reach the power and had a water hookup. Highly recommend this stay.
Amazing experience in the groves
Awesome place to stay where you dont have to worry about anything. Scott met us at the gaye and lead us into the grove. They have 30 amp power, water and regular outlets. The site is right in the perfect place 5 feet from the orange grove and aboit 40 yards to the large lake. My dogs had an amazing time running Nd swimming the whole time. No one else to worry about at this place. We set up a hammock and my daughter sat in it all day. This is an amazing place to go for the weekend. The oranges were delicious, we had fresh orange juice everyday. It was an amazing experience and i will be.going back for sure.
A few items that you will need that i didn't have but scott helped me out. A long hose for water, depending on where your hookup is, i would bring 50' just in case. Also an extention cord for the 30amp power. The first spot i parked it didnt reach but scott helped me out to park a little better and then it just fit. Also remember to bring some rope to tie down your awning as its a little windy sometimes. Bring your bike, fishing gear and outdoor stove because its worth exploring the property as much as possible.
