If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Others have had comments on the noise, unfortunately you wont be escaping noise anywhere in southern Florida outside of a National or State Park, that said, Robert was very nice and helpful for our group, and was OK with us doing whatever we wanted. I'd stay there again!
Nice, secure and unique but….
Nice, secure and unique but….
Like other reviews, dogs barking all night and Neighboor blasting music… most of the night. If you are in camper/rv shouldn’t bother you as AC running covers up the noise, if you are in a tent…. We’ll make sure you had enough drinks to sleep through the night.
The hosts were very nice and very helpful.! The only issue was the loud music after 10 pm and smoking we could smell but those may not bother others. Some litter my husband picked up around our trailer. Loved the privacy and loved being close to the Everglades National park.
Camping in the fruit trees
Even though the host was not on the premises he was very responsive and even offered a tour of the gardens via WhatsApp. The lady who greeted us was very helpful and kind. The kids loved the dogs even though they barked they were very friendly. Camping among the fruit trees! Beautiful fruit trees everywhere, we will need to come back for a tour.
Bob was incredibly friendly and responsive, despite being out of town. However, his property was hard to get to (main road full of deep, large potholes) and the number of dogs on the property detracted from the experience. I love dogs and they were very sweet, but they barked all night and their “business” was everywhere, which made it difficult to pitch a tent. Ended up sleeping in our car, so it was not much different than finding a random parking lot for the night.
We stayed here in our 19’ Class B Roadtrek for 1 night as we attended the races at the Speedway. It was just fine ,It was quiet under the fruit trees,no frills ,electric and water available no sewage etc as this is a farm/residence not a campground ,you should like dogs as there are a few very kind hearted ones roaming the property that like petting.
The place was nice. We were given water and a power cord. The only issue was that there were a number of dogs roaming and barking during the night so make sure you are good with dogs.
We loved meeting "Farmer Bob" and had a wonderful time getting a tour of his awesome farm and enjoyed a peaceful evening and night.
When we arrived he greeted us and showed us around the farm. We learned a ton about the main fruit he grows, longan. We had never heard of it before and it was so cool seeing all the trees growing. In between some of the longan trees he grows starfruit and he gave us one to try. It was amazing and we totally recommend taking him up on his u-pick starfruit offer.
There are multiple spots for a campsite, and we decided to park our camper in the shade of the trees. We had a even campfire at another one of the sites with a big communal fire ring. The dogs happily joined us for the tour and the evening campfire and we loved getting to know them and their stories.
The one downside to this awesome trip was a neighbor a few farms down who has a penchant for playing very loud party music pretty late into the evening. We would just recommend bringing ear plugs or headphones for the nighttime.
