Come spend some time with the goats at Goat House Farm (and the chickens and a pig!).  Kayaking and hiking right off the property! Beautiful sunsets on the lake!

We are in a rural area of Tallahassee, along the Florida Big Bend Scenic Byway and surrounded by the beautiful Lake Talquin State Forest. Great fishing and hiking trails and beautiful sunsets. Two Trailwalkers and one Trailtrotter trail are just minutes away.  There is also a 10-mile Lines Bike Trail.  See trail maps in our photos!

We are located at the end of a bumpy 3/4 mile dirt road off Highway 20/Blountstown Hwy on the lake.   We have several cars in the neighborhood that don't have a problem on the road. but, again, full disclosure (and totally worth the bumps!).

We are about twenty five minutes from FSU stadium - straight shot! We love to host students and parents!

Come enjoy a tiny house experience on our farm surrounded by nature!   Immerse yourself in beautiful simplicity on the edge of Lake Talquin State Forest at the lake.  Pick a salad from our garden (when in season) and cook some fresh eggs for breakfast in our outdoor kitchen.

Your own little coop includes a comfy double bed with quality linens, a tiny desk, heat, and AC.  It sleeps two only or maybe two and an infant/toddler. The lake is just a short walk from the door.

Private and group goat yoga classes may be available during your stay. Check the extras under our booking for schedule and to book a ticket.  You can also add milking lessons!

We provide water, wifi, laundry, fresh eggs,  milk (when moms aren't nursing), and fresh fruits and veggies for the picking when in season.

We have a small outdoor kitchen area with grill, stove, utensils, and picnic table. Basic cooking ingredients are provided (oil, salt, pepper, eggs, etc) and you are welcome to pick from the garden when in season.

The common area has a coffee pot, tea kettle, television, laundry, shared fridge, and seating areas. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs, and other basics included.

We have a small bath house nearby with hot shower and a composting toilet. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and fresh towels provided.

There is a communal fire pit at the outdoor kitchen area.

We can also offer extra tents and gear sets for $15  if you need more space.  You will need to setup/break down the extra tents yourself.  There is a small site for the extra tent near the Coop.   You can reserve the extra tent under extras when you book.

Early Check-in time may be flexible depending upon concurrent bookings! We ask that you checkout of the coop by 11am, but you are welcome to spend the remainder of the day hanging out with the goats, kayaking, or just relaxing.

Dogs welcome at all sites, but are not allowed the pasture.  Dogs are required to be on leash during the day when our chickens free range.  In the evening, off leash is fine and we do have a fenced area where your dog may run supervised. Please bring bags and clean up after your companion animals! We do charge a  cleaning fee for companion animals in the coop.  Please add your pet as an extra when you book (ex. just one extra extra, even if you have two dogs).

Please arrive before 7pm. Remember, there is an hour time difference if coming from the west. Late arrivals interfere with our milking routine and we cannot stop milking to show you around. Farm folks also hit the hay pretty early! Please do not book and then tell us you will be arriving late. Thank you.

Things you should bring: Lighting for walking about (we will provide a lantern)

Firewood (from in state only! We often have firewood for or you can stop and pick some up from Country Feed on Highway 20);

Refillable water bottles Sunscreen if you plan to be out on the lake;

Bug Spray Please be aware that beginning in mid-May for about six weeks is yellow fly season in north Florida!;

Note: This is Florida and a farm in the forest.  There are bugs and spiders on the property.  Due to a previous guest's complaint about finding a palmetto bug in one of our cabins, I thought I should make sure everyone knows it happens! You may even meet a frog in our bath house. We love all our critters around here.

Feel free to message if you have questions!  The herd looks forward to meeting you!!

The goat farm was fabulous. MELISSA was very informative. My six year old granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Her homemade biscuits and honey butter are a thing of beauty. It was wonderful for my granddaughter to see beehives and then enjoy their honey. The coop is exactly as pictured. It is convenient to the bath house and common area but also a bit private. It was quite hot while we stayed. the air conditioner did a good job of keeping the coop cooled off.

The chicken coop was cozy, adorable and comfy. The goats are all super cute and the people helpful and friendly. Definitely a great place for kiddos. Request the fresh made biscuits, they were delicious! I'll be staying with Melissa and her goats again.

This place is like heaven...with goats! If you stay in the coop, it has AC, an outlet, and a light. The farm has a kayak that you can use in the lake and that is a big plus that wasn’t advertised. There is no place to let your dog run free like stated it the description. Melissa was a really nice host! The fridge in the common area wasn’t that big so I'd recommended not bringing a lot of food but there is a dollar general nearby. I got to see a goat give birth! I definitely plan to come back soon. It was the best mini vacation ever! 5/5

What a lovely, magical place in the middle of the forest. I was traveling through with my dog and stayed at the coop, which was super cozy and comfy. We'd been on the road a lot and enjoyed just sitting and relaxing on the edge of the property, watching all of the comings and goings. The fellow campers, the farm workers, visitors, and of course the animals. We sat for hours watching the goats play in the sun, the chickens do their hilarious chicken drama. and the pig who demands belly rubs from anyone who asks to pet him. Melissa is as warm as friendly as all the other reviewers say, and she's really built a terrific place here. I was able to get the rest I needed to continue my trip in a such a peaceful, mindful place. Thanks so much! The goat milk soap is wonderul!
