In Wisconsin’s western region, Blair serves as a great starting point for a camping trip in the area. Perrot State Park, known for its bluffs along the Mississippi River, is just 30 minutes away and offers both modern and primitive campsites with amenities like flush toilets and showers. The park's extensive network of hiking trails, including those that ascend the bluffs, provide unforgettable views and opportunities for birdwatching, especially during migration seasons. Lake Wissota State Park, about an hour away from Blair, is a haven for water lovers, featuring a large reservoir ideal for fishing, boating, and swimming. Its well-equipped campgrounds have both family and group sites with basic amenities as well as easy access to biking and nature trails that meander through the park's diverse ecosystems. Meanwhile, Black River State Forest offers a more secluded wilderness experience for camping, hiking, and ATVing. The forest has three campgrounds, some are open year-round, that offer access to a canoe launch, a swimming beach, and off-road bike trails.
