Learn more about this land: Nestle on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation also known for Spiritual Healing that overlooks the Pamunkey River. The Pamunkey people have been here for over 10,000 years making this area one of the oldest reservations in the country. We have a small platform sitting right on the water for privacy and beautiful views of the river. You may see Bald Eagles, Grey Herons, Ducks, Geese, River Otters, and so much more. During low tide, the water is pulled back into the main part of the river and this is where you will see the wildlife during this time. There are up to 8 Bald Eagles here at a time and during the Spring to Fall, you will see Osprey hunting for food right in front of you and usually getting chased by the Eagles. What an awesome site to be able to camp and be a part of so many creatures all in their natural habitat. We live right up the hill.  Depending on where your tent is located, you may or may not see our home.  Usually you cannot but want you to be aware.  When you are camping, we respect your space and privacy to the fullest. During the full moon, the water on the campsite will rise and you will need to camp closer to the land.  Also, when the tied is out, you will not be able to launch the canoe or kayak. There is a short path to walk and it is a very short incline.   During Spring through the fall, the museum is opened for visitors at 5.00 each visitor.  We also have a gift shop where local artist showcase their items and also they are for sale. Debit, Cash and Credit Cards are accepted.  Check out the Pamunkey Indian Reservation website and always call to make sure their hours haven't changed. Please note that hunting season starts in October, and you may hear the noise.Nestle on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation also known for Spiritual Healing that overlooks the Pamunkey River. Reservation Camping on the Water!
We absolutely loved this place! Allyn and Duane are fantastic hosts: they are extremely friendly and polite, always quick to respond and they provided us with all the information we possibly could need to ensure our stay will be 100% relaxing and stress free. The campsite is a quiet and peaceful place with stunning view! Trip from New Jersey all the way to Virginia definitely worth it! We definitely recommend this place to everyone and we will be coming back again! Thank you Allyn & Duane!

Reservation Camping on the Water!
This place is an actual slice of heaven! We are grateful that Allyn shared their place with us for the weekend. We watched the eagles, hawks, and bats hunt while the sunset over the water. The next morning we paddled and fished. The water was always calm. The shade at the campsite was refreshing. It was the perfect place to enjoy nature. I am looking forward to visiting again!

Reservation Camping on the Water!
Tucked-Away River Side Spot 🥰
The camping spot is literally right on the water and in full view of the sunset (which was beautiful both nights, but the first night, the sun turned hot pink while still well above the horizon 🤯😍) Allyn was kind and personable without being over-bearing, and was extremely helpful and responsive 🧡 The outdoor shower is INCREDIBLE - hot water, open air, nice view of the river while still having some tree coverage. The firepit had a grate over it for cooking. The hose offered potable well water. The dog was cuddly and the absolute sweetest. We were able to take a half-day trip to explore Williamsburg, we canoed on the river, and we visited the Pamunkey Indian Museum, which while small was definitely worth going to see. The only con was that the outdoor toilet tent situation is a little cramped. I went camping with my brother who is over six feet and quite broad, and he found it especially challenging. But I still can't recommend this space enough for a quiet*, river-side camping weekend 💜 Thank you so much, Allyn! * "quiet" in that, the spot had virtually no noise pollution at night and feels more hidden away, but not quiet because the frogs audition for Disney musicals all night long 😂

Reservation Camping on the Water!
Beautiful view and fishing spot
Wonderful experience, thank you Allyn. Upon arrival Allyn was very polite and informative. Took my family for an outdoor outing and we were very pleased with the trip. I’d strongly recommend for anyone who loves to fish. Scenic with a lot of nature. Great shade for most of the day from trees on hot summer days. The sunset is a must see so bring something to record the memories. Can’t forget Juno, friendliest dog. Overall amazing time, definitely would recommend.
