Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Our 20 acre property is home to lots of birdlife including many little swallows. The campsite is open, grassy land with large eucalypts, bottle-brushes and other native trees. There is an olive grove too. We have resident wildlife including echidnas, goannas and "Wally" the Wallaby.
We're located a 2 min drive from Lake Laanecoorie which is ideal for boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing and walking. Plenty of great places for road cycling and mounting biking too.
This campsite suits self-sufficient campers who bring their own toilet/shower facilities, water and power supplies. There is tank water available for washing hands etc (but it is not potable). Dogs on leashes are very welcome.
The Laanecoorie region has many attractions to offer including Melville Caves, named after bushranger Captain Melville (the local folktales state that his gold is still buried in the area!), the Loddon Miniature Steam Locomotive Society displays (4th Sunday of each month), weekend markets and wineries. The canoe trail on the river and lake is a must! Our 20 acre property is home to lots of birdlife including many little swallows.
