If you are looking for peace and quiet away from the crowds, this space by the vineyard is perfect. It provides the camping experience with a bit of luxury, and you will have the whole site to yourselves. It can be booked for up to 3 vans (maximum 10 people)
If you have friends that want to join you, but they don't have a caravan, you can also book the Glamping POD located on the other side of the facilities (see photos). This is an additional cost of $100 per night - BYO linen.
Fire drums are available, and wood is included for your first night. (fires are not permitted during times of restrictions)
There is a gas BBQ and hotplate on a fire drum for cooking outside if you prefer.
There is full access to the enclosed modern but rustic in appearance bathroom with a shower and vanity, kitchenette and living area, TV, breakfast bar looking out over the vineyard for the rainy days. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, mini oven, kettle, toaster, electric frying pan and some crockery and cutlery. At the rear of the building there is a separate building attached with a toilet and sink.
The facilities are for your exclusive use and have power and water. Please note, there is no power or water connections for vans and vans should be self-contained.
Guest access:
The family home and sheds on the property are private. As is the Railway Bed and Breakfast located on the other side of the family home.
There are tracks around the property as well as through the adjacent Westgate Reserve for you to walk which still has remnants of Chinese gold mining. We ask that guests do not walk through the vineyard due to the spread of pests and disease. There is access to a paddock at the top of the hill where we have a ‘Sunset Seat’ and a table and chairs located to view the sunset over the Grampians. The Grampians are a 40 minute drive away where you will be spoilt for choice for walks and swimming holes.
Because of the location being so close to the vineyard there may be some vineyard work or machinery that may go past your site. We will plan not to do this during your stay, or keep to a minimum if essential.
There is a wine tasting room near the house that is open by appointment. Wine and preserves are available to purchase directly from the owners. Wine tasting is included in your booking fee for those interested.
Interaction with guests:
Andrew and Katrina live in the family home on the property and can be contacted by phone if needed. Someone will try to be here to greet you where possible. Hosts Andrew and Katrina are happy to answer questions about the local area, activities, events, wines and foodie havens.
