Coastal Town Block Camp

1 site · RV, Tent5 acres · Narrawong, VIC
A half an acre town block conveniently located an easy 800 metre walk to the beautiful Narrawong Ocean beach. The Surrey River winds through the small seaside holiday town and is great for kayaking, fishing and swimming. Lifeguards patrol the main beach during the summer holidays. The block is long and narrow with a flat shady camping area up the top just inside the gate. This area might not be suited to everyone as it is having some traffic noise from the road. We prefer to camp down the bottom of the block on a mowed area of approximately 18 X 18 metres. We have planted young trees down here but they are not yet big enough to provide shade. If your tent or caravan is faced to the north you will have a beautiful view across to Mt Clay in the morning. Bird watchers will especially enjoy the outlook. Campers and caravaners will need to bring their own water and toilet as there are no services on the block. There are public toilets near the foreshore reserve but no dump station for toilets. Please dispose of your camping toilets appropriately and take all rubbish with you. If you book our place, you will have the whole site to yourself unless you wish to come with friends. If you are coming with friends, please book their site in separately. We book per site not per person. This is a half-acre residential town block so please respect our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after sunset. The General Store next door to the property is undergoing renovations and currently not open but basic supplies can be bought at the Narrawong Post Office or caravan park and it is a fifteen-minute drive to Portland where you have everything you need. Nearby attractions and distances are: Narrawong Beach - 800 mt Surrey River - 600 mt Mt Clay State Forest - 13 km Budj Bim National Park Cultural Centre and Café - 22km Portland - 16 km Port Fairy - 55 km Grampians Nation Park - 118 km The Great Ocean Road - 93 km

The gardens were established over a number of years to follow, aiming to be as sustainable as possible.
