In keeping it reasonable and safe, we found HIPCAMP offered us the best venue to do so. Site #1 is camper/RV accessible with lots of room for friends, vehicles and a field to set up tents or game playing areas. If deep woods camping is what you prefer, we offer that as well. We offer free firewood, picnic tables and outhouses. Fresh water pond for cooling off and bathing. 100 acres of trails through the woods, fields and 3/4 mile of river frontage for all your outdoor activities.

Both Michele and Pierre grew up on dairy farms in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, and are proud to be the next generation of farmers, working the same land as Michele’s grandparents once did. Imagine camping at a romantic lavender farm at the top of Vermont. Lavender Essentials of Vermont sits on top of a 1,600' hill in the quaint little town of Derby, Vermont. Nestled in a hillside meadow, the campsites are only a short walk from the lavender fields and 360' of breathtaking views. You will want to bring your camera!
Stay with us at our farm, and take in the quaint, picturesque countryside. We offer a peaceful site, away from it all, to relax and experience Vermont. In the meadows you can pick wild flowers, take an afternoon nap, wander the trails, bird watch, or listen to frogs and catch fireflies in the evening. At night you will be amazed at the star filled sky!
Day or night it's hard to deny the peaceful and romantic feeling you get from the lavender farm! The farm has a Lavender Labyrinth, fields of sunflowers, chamomile, mint (and other herbs and vegetables), bees, informational placards along walking trails, cozy private seating, a gazebo for special events, a hidden geocache, and even a gift shop! We love dogs, but we must insist dogs be kept on a leash at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the farm's fields because we grow culinary grade crops and must protect them. All dog waste must be cleaned immediately and is restricted to designated pet rest areas. Owners will be held responsible for any damages.
Please keep your campsite clean. Fires are allowed, as long as winds are not strong. Our weather can be breezy, and exposed at times, so pack according. Bring a sweater and a kite! There's a reason we have a 140ft wind turbine.

Ideal for self-contained 4X4 vans and truck campers, our site does not provide water, toilets, or electricity. All trash brought in must be taken out with you. Tents, trailers, and open fires are not permitted.
Located in close proximity to Kingdom Trails biking, which commences in East Haven, VT, our site also offers excellent loops and trails for walking. Additionally, a brewery is just 2 miles down route 114.
Hawk Rock Road is an excellent gravel trail for bike riding, and our location provides easy access to Burke Mountain and the myriad attractions of the Northeast Kingdom.

Please note that there is not potable water available.
Guests will need to bring their own tent and sleeping arrangements. All Pets must be kept on a leash during a guests stay.

I Recommend parking in lower lot and hiking to the top to camp. The road is a off road/logging road to the top. Hipcamp and myself does not cover any damage to your vehicle . Read reviews before booking.

We invite you to stay! Looking behind as you drive up Coles Mountain to the land, you see views of Lake Willoughby and rolling mountains heading out to the horizon in the west. Majestic. Once you have traveled 3 miles and gone up 1,700 feet from Lake Willoughby, you cross a land bridge over a stream and enter a private clearing ringed with tress and forest. This is an old orchard in the forest with an off-grid cabin. Cozy surroundings. Though you may hear others on surrounding properties, you don't see them. Cross another stream and the land goes back another 10 acres into deep forest. Magical.Outdoor activities throughout the area include hiking, skiing and mountain biking at Burke Mountain, Kingdom Trails Association, Craftsbury Outdoor Center and local Vermont State Parks, as well as kayaking, swimming, and fishing on Lake Willoughby. Watch the sunset at Sentinel Rock. As noted on the Vermont Department of Health's website, "Vermont has reached Step 4 of the Vermont Forward Plan. Except for international travel, travel no longer requires testing or quarantine. Masks are still required on public transportation, including school buses. CDC recommends delaying travel until you are fully vaccinated because travel increases your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19."
