Simply Wyldwood is a 10-acre homestead and mindful living retreat including a food forest at the edge of the woodland and an 800-square-foot movement space called My Yoga Barn. My Grandparents purchased this property in the '70s and my Grandfather wanted to live from the land and my Grandmother loved her community, bluebonnets, and roadrunners. I'm honored to now grow more food for my community and share this healing space in nature. This is a "choose your own adventure" experience. You can camp in the Yoga Barn or bring your own tent and sleep outside. During your stay, you are invited to relax or roll out your mat for yoga on the shaded deck or sun deck, in the Yoga Barn in the AC, and book a private Yoga/Meditation class or Mindful Forest Bathing Experience from your host who is an instructor in both. Enjoy strolling through the trails on the property and touring the food gardens viewing chickens roaming on the way. There is a full bath in the Barn and a private hot/cold outdoor shower to use to cool off during the day and has a lovely view of the stars overhead at night. There is outdoor seating on the deck of the Yoga Barn along with a ping-pong table and gas grill. Meals are outside on the deck. You can bring your own food or visit a neighboring restaurant. Your hosts are Foodies and happy to help you find something. We are 5 minutes from McKinney Roughs Nature Center, Zip Lost Pines, and Hyatt Lost Pines. A short 10-minute trip to Bastrop for shopping, river activities, and Bastrop State Park.Simply Wyldwood is our 10-acre homestead in Wyldwood Texas 20 miles east of Austin that we share as a retreat for others interested in Grounding, Growing, and Vibing High. We steward the land that includes; an establishing food forest, kitchen and market gardens, a Post Oak Savanah woodland forest with trail access, and a movement space I call My Yoga Barn. You will see and hear homestead chickens roaming the grounds. The Barn is an 800-square-foot dual-purpose space. It has a Queen-size bed and a full-size loft. Yoga props for 8 are available in outdoor storage.  You can enjoy the windows open or closed to allow you to be as close to nature as possible without the bugs. There are shades on one side to give you privacy from the main house. You are secluded from any neighbors and 100 feet from the main house. The main sleeping area and the private bathroom are near the back wall with no windows for more privacy. Bring your bedding for additional floor sleeping if needed.  The full bath inside has a tub for soaking or you can enjoy the outdoor hot/cold shower under the stars. You have access to the large communal fire pit on-site when safe to have fires.  There are two decks attached to the Barn.  The front deck faces East and is great for a sunrise practice, soaking up some rays of Vitamin D, and night sky viewing. There is outdoor seating with tables and chairs on the side deck near the Oak, a ping-pong table (balls and paddles included), and a gas grill. Various sit spots are located through trails and gardens. We are a “Leave No Trace” venue.  So whatever you pack in you pack out.  All trash and recycling go back home with you. You can add some products or services to your stay or visit some local attractions and nearby restaurants.  Additions to consider: *Private or small group Yoga Asana or Yoga Meditation or combination with a certified Yoga and Meditation Instructor *Guided nature connection (forest bathing) through the food forest then through the trails on the property with a certified Nature Therapy/Mindfulness Guide. *Day Excursions to consider: *Mckinney Roughs Nature Preserve *Bastrop State Park *Moby’s Fishing Hole *Zip Lost Pines Nearby Restaurants to consider: *Leo's Italian Restaurant *Storehouse in Bastrop *The Hyatt. Things to know about visiting rural Texas: You are visiting a working homestead/farm in rural Bastrop County.  If you live in the city you may not have experience with some country sounds.  Some of the things you may occasionally hear are; roosters, native wildlife, and domestic animals.  Gunfire IS NOT allowed on the property but safe shooting is legal in Texas in certain areas under certain circumstances.  Because you are visiting a rural Texas community you may hear the occasional gunshot from another property.

Yoga Barn at Simply Wyldwood
Glamping in the Yoga Barn!
We loved Rebecca’s homestead and yoga barn - learned about the hens and roosters, and the vegetables and flowers she’s growing. She was so sweet to show us around the property and where we can access for hiking. I was very appreciative that she was mindful about giving us privacy. The Yoga Barn was so clean and comfortable, we brought blow up mattresses to sleep on. We lit up the fire pit and hung out around there; drinking apple cider and making s’mores. The hot shower was heavenly since it was cool and drizzly towards the end of the night. In the morning, we played a board game and did yoga and meditation, loved watching the hens walk by. The view out from the barn was beautiful and so much nature, especially in the early morning when everything is so quiet and still - you can see the silhouette of the trees and the haze from the morning air. The bonus was meeting her dog. We would absolutely return!

Yoga Barn at Simply Wyldwood
I felt the peacefulness of Wyldwood the moment I walked onto the grounds. Rebecca and David were very welcoming and prepared our group with a tour of the grounds and a meditative, relaxation exercise. Our overnight stay was delightful and we all enjoyed waking up with the sunrise and chickens pecking at the barn’s glass. The wildscaping and nature nourishment activity was a great way for the group to work together, connect and interact with the land at Wyldwood.

We held a staff retreat here and had a very relaxing experience! The grounds are beautiful and fun to explore, and the Yoga Barn was a nice relief from the summer sun & heat. Rebecca was very accommodating and helped ensure we had a good stay.

Girls trip
I had a great time at the Yoga Barn. Rebecca was inviting and kind to me and my teenage daughter. We signed up for the 20 minute hike and we learned so much about the trees and new growth. Enjoyed our stay and we are already planning the next one.

A little slice of peaceful paradise
When I arrived , Rebecca welcomed me and showed me around her beautiful garden, explaining all the different plants, it was truly amazing. The yoga barn was a beautiful space with a loft bed that was so cozy I didn’t want to get up!!! The property is surrounded by wildflowers, trees, birds and other wildlife . Her chickens followed me around on the hiking trails in the morning and kept me company. This retreat is extremely peaceful and a wonderful getaway. I will be back for sure !

Magical!
This was a picture-perfect stay--a lovely oasis, peaceful and beautifully well-tended grounds, and a very comfortable night's sleep in the barn loft. Waking up was magical, with sunlight unfolding over the garden and field of wildflowers outside the barn windows. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to others! Rebecca was also a wonderful host, attentive and gracious but also allowing her guests privacy.
