Hazel Park

Hazel Park is primarily a 30 acre stand of pine. It has several trails and Crystal Creek Runs through it. In addition there is a cleared 15 acre area once used for farming and grazing. It includes our homestead. The camping area is 3 acres of an abandoned homestead which includes a water well, electricity and septic system. One septic hookup is available No toilet is available there yet. There is a septic dump. Adjacent to this area is a private pond for fishing. Off road vehicles are welcome. Lake Conroe is located about 6 miles west. The Sam Houston National Forest entrance is about 18 miles north. Beyond the national forest is Huntsville and Sam Houston State University 24 miles. To the East is Lake Livingston 35 miles and a continuation of the national forest. To the south are the cities of Conroe, The Woodlands, Spring, and Houston. Downtown Houston is about 49 miles away.

I also don't know when they will be working right behind us in a way that will maybe make it less than an ideal week. If I learn anything else I will update this. The Mabry boat ramp will be accessible the full time. Waterfront RV Port on Bolivar Peninsula. Has water, sewer, and electric with a new 20-30-50 amp panel. Covered RV spot with a screen porch. Property is fenced and dogs are welcome. The screened porch needs a bit more work but we ate there in the evenings without being swarmed by mosquitoes which is the way evenings at the coast do be. There is a dining table with chairs in the porch, and some patio chairs to use on the property. They are really great to sit on the dock! Also have a charcoal grill and a crab trap for you to use. (You need a fishing license and bait. Chicken bones works great!) Plenty of birding and fishing on the peninsula. Community fishing area is on the end of both Van Sant and Mabry, Mabry has a boat ramp. Beach Access via community gate at end of street. Combination for those will be shared in arrival instructions. Spot is a residential lot... It is 60 x 130. I know it says 1 acre but that is the smallest hipcamp will show. Two sides have other RV spots. One is a rental, the other is used by some pretty cool and quiet folks. The back side fronts on the water. You will probably see more seagulls and purple martins than people. We have weekly discounts. Message me and I can go over them because the Hipcamp platform makes them difficult. It works out to approximately 7 nights for the price of 5. Be prepared: Bolivar has mosquitoes. This is the coast. If it has rained they can be really bad. The county sprays on a regular rotation but it can be bad. They tend to swarm when you pull in. Spray helps. We also send recommendations for what sprays work best for us in the arrival instructions. We do not offer refunds for mosquitoes. We have never found them unmanageable, and the screen porch keeps them almost entirely away. We are east of Rollover Pass. Easiest to arrive through Winnie and south on 124. Unless you are coming from Galveston or southeast Houston it is probably shorter. The ferry is fun (dolphins and such) but the waits can be long. Also: Do not bring loose propane tanks or gasoline cans on the ferry, they will send you away. The Mabry boat ramp will be accessible the full time. Waterfront RV Port on Bolivar Peninsula. Has water, sewer, and electric with a new 20-30-50 amp panel. Covered RV spot with a screen porch. Property is fenced and dogs are welcome. The screened porch needs a bit more work but we ate there in the evenings without being swarmed by mosquitoes which is the way evenings at the coast do be. There is a dining table with chairs in the porch, and some patio chairs to use on the property. They are really great to sit on the dock! Also have a charcoal grill and a crab trap for you to use. (You need a fishing license and bait. Chicken bones works great!) Plenty of birding and fishing on the peninsula. Community fishing area is on the end of both Van Sant and Mabry, Mabry has a boat ramp. Beach Access via community gate at end of street. Combination for those will be shared in arrival instructions. Spot is a residential lot... It is 60 x 130. I know it says 1 acre but that is the smallest hipcamp will show. Two sides have other RV spots. One is a rental, the other is used by some pretty cool and quiet folks. The back side fronts on the water. You will probably see more seagulls and purple martins than people. We have weekly discounts. Message me and I can go over them because the Hipcamp platform makes them difficult. It works out to approximately 7 nights for the price of 5. Be prepared: Bolivar has mosquitoes. This is the coast. If it has rained they can be really bad. The county sprays on a regular rotation but it can be bad. They tend to swarm when you pull in. Spray helps. We also send recommendations for what sprays work best for us in the arrival instructions. We do not offer refunds for mosquitoes. We have never found them unmanageable, and the screen porch keeps them almost entirely away. We are east of Rollover Pass. Easiest to arrive through Winnie and south on 124. Unless you are coming from Galveston or southeast Houston it is probably shorter. The ferry is fun (dolphins and such) but the waits can be long. Also: Do not bring loose propane tanks or gasoline cans on the ferry, they will send you away. We can't always come between to do any cleaning but there are no indoor spaces anyway.
