We had a great stay at Take A Break, lots of space, peaceful and the kids loved the horse that visited at breakfast time.

Very nice little spot! Had the whole place to myself all weekend and felt very safe as a single camper! A storm was about to roll through during the night and the lovely owners made sure I was secure! Toilet and shower are a great bonus!

Wonderful time!
Ian and Tracey were both wonderfully helpful and friendly when we rocked up about five hours late for our check in time. We really felt the hospitality when we were all exhausted and dirty, and Ian was kind enough to personally escort us through the dark to our campsite. This camping spot was like a breath of fresh air after a long day, the stars are stunning and the outdoor shower was a treat. In the morning, we were surprised by a very pretty horse coming to visit us, it was a great view for a camp breakfast. I would advise people to take note of how windy it can be, due to the flat land. We weighed our large tent down with some bricks we had, and that seems to help. Just hold onto your clothes when you have a wash. We would definitely come to this site again if we’re ever in the area. Thank you so much, Ian and Tracey!

Beautiful but full of mozzies
The view and atmosphere were amazing! Sadly the space was swarmed by mozzies from dusk until after dawn. We left the place as early as we could to escape them.

Rude host! Do not recommend.
This was a nice place to stay originally. First night we pulled up and got smashed by an intense storm so packed up and left as we almost broke our camper trailer from the wind. But 2 days later decided to try again as the dam was a lovely place to relax with our 2 dogs. This time the host came down and said hello, introduced our dogs to his dog he had on the buggy. The owner seemed very nice and welcoming. Only to have an absolute fit at us the next morning, because his dog had come down to our site and was running around the dam with our dogs. He came down and started verbally abusing us for not sending his dog back up to the house (even though he had not mentioned to do this the day before if we saw his dog down with us). Was swearing at us and telling us that we won't be welcome back with our dogs if he finds HIS dog back down with us. Then sped off like a lunatic in his buggy back up to the house. We were going to stay the next 2 nights, but decided to pack up and go elsewhere as we didn't want to support some one like that by staying on his property any longer. If he had mentioned to us the day before to send his dog away if we saw her we would of been more then happy to send her away. But as we had no idea this is what he wanted, we thought it was fine that his dog was having fun running around with ours. We will not be back. And will not recommend this place to friends.
