The timber towns of Blackbutt and Benarkin are located on top of the Blackbutt Range at the eastern gateway to Queensland's South Burnett region. Here is where you'll find Blackbutt Campground. Wander through the scrub. Watch and listen to native birds. Reflect over the tranquil soaks. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water supply. You'll need to take all waste with you when you go, there is a strict Leave No Trace policy here. There is access to wifi and also a picnic table for camp meals, and campfires are permitted when there are no fire local restrictions in place. Your dog is also welcome to holiday with you. There is minimal light pollution for stargazers, so you'll really be able to see the Milky Way. There is a communal fireplace for you to warm your feet in the evenings. For cycling enthusiasts, the Brisbane Rail Trail passes through our locality. Currently, the longest rail trail in Australia, the 161 km Brisbane Valley Rail Trail uses the disused Brisbane Valley rail line that commenced construction at Wulkuraka near Ipswich in 1884 and was completed at Yarraman in 1913. The region has a mix of farmland, forests, picturesque rural settings and country towns.Wander through the scrub. Watch and listen to native birds.
