With over 230 acres, a lake, trails, the Grand River, and plenty of wildlife. Bass and Buck Adventures is the perfect place to get away. Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1930's. My grandpa purchased this property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, "jeeping". Many of the items used for the camp sites have been reclaimed. The fire rings are old tractor rims and scrap steel. The tent platform is from reclaimed deck lumber. The firewood is excess cutoffs purchased from a local sawmill. Rick's tent camping area is a peaceful forest setting, well-maintained sites, and ample space for tents and campfires. Rick is welcoming and knowledgeable about the local trails and fishing spots. Facilities are clean and the area is close to attractions yet secluded enough for enjoying nature. Highly recommended for a relaxing camping experience!

Deep Woods
Solar Eclipse April 2024
Deep Woods was an amazing stay; the campsite was beautifully caressed by the river, which is such a nice background noise. It is a decent walk back through the woods but thankfully Rick was super helpful getting our camp gear in and out. Highly recommend!

Lake View
Loved the Lake View Site!
Had a great time staying at the Lake View site! It felt very private and we had lots of room to spread out 4 tents with room to spare. There are lots of cool places to explore on the property and Rick was very kind. The fire pit and picnic table were on a bit of a slope, so its best for young, nimble campers, but plenty of flat areas for tents up in the wooded areas. The lake was lovely, lots of cool animals to see (frogs, snakes, turtles, birds, etc) and a stunning view of the solar eclipse! It was a magical trip and we will definitely book again!

Gorgeous Retreat
My friends and I absolutely LOVED staying on Rick’s land. Rick was such a generous and kind host, greeting us with fully stocked firewood and a great lay of the beautiful land, setting us up for a great weekend. We were the first group to stay at this brand new site on this land and feel so lucky and grateful. You can tell this land is well cared for and respected. Being right on the river is so peaceful, and the outhouse was in a perfect spot. Also loved experiencing all varieties of wildlife from turkeys to muskrats and more! The land has multiple campsites but they are all placed very intentionally so each site is granted privacy. The property is about 45 mins away from the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, so it made for a perfect day trip during our stay! Take advantage of the opportunity to stay at Bass and Buck Adventures! We will definitely be coming back for another magical visit.

Rick's camping haven was a pleasure to take my family to for the solar eclipse. He is an incredible host, kept us stocked with firewood, and even accommodated our late arrival with an upgrade for the night, so that we wouldn't have to put up our tent in the dark. He took us on a tour of the property and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. This place is incredible, feeling as if we were away from it all while still close to corner stores to get everything we might be short on. Don't miss out on this gem of an adventure!!
