This property was once a working apple orchard. Over regulation made it very difficult to manage so we let it lie foul for years. Then we let a fellow farmer use it to graze his cattle. Now our children has taking it over and are raising beef cattle on the property. Our campsite lies on the beautiful two and a half century old LeFevre family farmstead with rich history and stunning views of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge. The property is on a 40-acre old apple orchard that is super private and filled with dramatic views and spectacular sunsets. Wake up in your tent to the sounds of birds chirping, roasters crowing and cows just close enough but just far enough way. On occasion there may be a person driving by to tend to the cattle.Wake up in your tent to the sounds of birds chirping, roasters crowing and cows just close enough but just far enough way. FYI we have moved our fence to accommodate our cows who live there year-round. Therefore some of our images from previous guests are a bit difference. Still a beautiful spot. The cows just get a whole bunch closer to you. Don’t worry we don’t charge extra for petting the cows.

Mohonk Mountain View Farm
The site had a platform to get off the ground, picnic table and fire pit. Watching the sun setting and the cows visiting us was great. Plenty of hiking and New Paltz is close by. The only draw back was no bathroom or shade from trees but we knew that and were prepared. I would definitely return to the site in the spring or fall.

Beautiful mountain views
Such a perfect campsite! The view was wonderful and the cows were so sweet and visited many times. Completely private and the platform for the tent was great to have to keep the bottom dry from the morning dew. Will absolutely be back. Thank you!

I loved the view on Wrights land and the peace and quite. The New Paltz area was nice with all the small shops. We also went biking at the Gunks. There is so much to do in the area.

The best campsite
This was one of the best campsites we’ve stayed at on the east coast (: the view is beautiful. You have 100% privacy. We loved the cows that visited they get really close it’s a cool experience. We will definitely be back many more times!

Mohonk Mountain View Farm
The campsite is beautiful. As others said, there’s no shade, so as long as you bring something it’s okay. They only negative thing was I was never able to get in contact with the hosts before, after or during which I thought was odd.

Mohonk Mountain View Farm
We had a great time at this campsite with our kids (toddler and baby). The toddler loved all the space to run around, picking apples from the trees right at the site, and getting up close to the cows who came to visit us. We loved the beautiful views, sunset, and peace and quiet. Only thing to be aware of is that the site is quite exposed. On a hot sunny day it's very hot. We took advantage of the proximity to Mohonk Preserve to enjoy some shady swimming spots and escape the heat.
