Since 1997 Campers have enjoyed the beauty of nature in beautiful Buskirk, NY at Camp Brenenstuhl. Come enjoy your own piece of the Hoosic river and have a good time. Pitch a tent or bring your RV and spend some time with mother nature. Swim, or boat on the beautiful Hoosic River, have yourself a fire at your campsite, or come to camp center and enjoy the communal fire, and common areas. When you arrive there will be enough wood at your site for your first fire. There is plenty more that can be collected as well afterwards. We have mens and womens out houses, we supply fresh drinking water, and enough power via a battery bank for you to charge your mobile devices, etc. Canoe, rowboat, and kayak rental also available on site. We hope you enjoy your stay, and if you need anything, we are only a call or text message away. Please note that this is NOT on Ravenwood way. From Ravenwood way continue 3 driveways past there headed East on 67. There are orange construction cones marking the entrance.

Site 4 - Camp Brenenstuhl
Overrated, over priced
If you are passing through and need a place to crash for the night, this place will do. It has potential to be a beautiful space but hasn’t been well cared for. There is junk scattered about the property and piled around the trailer parked there. And don’t walk barefoot, there is broken glass all around. In fact, our campsite (4) had a large pile of glass when we arrived. Bob worked to clean it up, but there were still shards lingering so I didn’t pull into the campsite very far. Only one of the outhouses is functional and that’s the best way to describe it - functional. The river is quiet, but there’s no beach and boat rentals are an additional $20 a day. Also, Bob and a friend were there the first night playing music loudly until 8PM and the second night we came back from a concert after midnight and there was a kerosene lamp burning - open flame - with no one around. Lastly, the road in needs maintenance as branches were rubbing on my camper van. It is definitely NOT suitable for anything larger than a camper van. Maybe someone will improve the place …

Site 3 - Camp Brenenstuhl
There was lots of trash on the property. There was also a vacant camper on the property that was an eyesore. There was only one porta potty available. We couldn't even use that. The river was beautiful and there were so many different species of birds.

Site 4 - Camp Brenenstuhl
VERY MISREPRESENTED
This looks like it WAS a nice camp at some point. It is now filled with trash and everything is falling apart. 1. There is a trailer filled with trash and surrounded by trash that is yards away from the camp spots 2. There is construction debris scattered around the site - boards with nails - which I stepped on - this is a HUGE safety issue for kids 3. The bathrooms are in unusable condition - I don't mind pit bathrooms but these are NOT being maintained at all - one is collapsed and the other is barely standing, the floor is rotting away 4. The host specifies they will provide wood for one night - this is NOT true. We were given WET wood that lasted maybe 30 min and stopped burning. I don't mind bringing my own wood, if you don't LIE to me and tell me its provided! 5. The picnic table was just a small half rotten coffee table one foot off the ground - again, I don't mind bringing my own table camping when I am not LIED to and told one is provided! Honestly, I am not one to complain usually, and we DID stay the one night on the property, so I don't mind that the host be paid, hence not requesting a refund. HOWEVER, the property is very misrepresented on Hipcamp. Trash litters the property. There are abandoned tents, trash, construction debris, cans, clothing - etc Please be aware - you are NOT getting what you think you paid for!

Site 4 - Camp Brenenstuhl
Amazing River Camping
This is a great spot! Site 4 is right on the water with a great fire pit, benches, tables, and outhouses. Bob was very accommodating and provided bug spray, clean water, life jackets, and more. There were lots of great boats too that he rents for a great price. Amazing swimming too. Wish we had spent another night and would absolutely come back

Camp Brenenstuhl
It's somewhere
We spent 10 hours driving to this place to find the map brought us to a trailer park instead and the owner wasn't answering his phone, finally when he answered he told us it'd actually further down the road to a spot where the pylons are hardly noticeable, we were coming for a concert that was in saratoga springs so this experience of having to find the place wasn't pleasant... we drive in and it's just a Forrest of rotting leaves but we had no time to care because we had to go to the concert, set up the tent quick in the rain and left. We never met the owner at all... didn't know where the bathroom was or the wood or water ect but it is what it is. We got back after 2am and the campers beside us were still partying. We ended up sleeping in the car and left early in the morning. The place is fine but the leaves could be cleared...we don't even know if we set up on an actual camp spot because no one was there to help us. My suggestion is to write a better description on how to get to the place because it sounds like it's a common error

Camp Brenenstuhl
The campsite was great and right next to the river. There are porta-johns and Bob brought a large cooler of fresh spring water for us to use, as well as gave us enough firewood for one really nice fire! The mosquitos were pretty nasty, but Bob also provided repellent as well. His camper is set up permanently on the site, but there’s plenty of space to run around. My daughters had a great time swimming, and we took him up on the rental of a canoe, and went upstream a good ways, to see fish/heron/and just beautiful scenery. We’d definitely camp at Bob’s place again!
