Pitch your tent or park your campertrailer in the native bushland with the pristine Numeralla River as your boundary fence. This 3000 acre property is located close to Nimmitabel and not too far from Cooma. Try your hand at trout fishing and enjoy endless tracks for bushwalking and observing the native wildlife. Wander along the river banks just enjoying the serenity of the location and witness platypus feeding, water dragons sunning themselves and the brown trout fly feeding and one of Australia's beautiful but lesser known native rodents, Rakali (intelligent semi aquatic water rat who's scientific name translates to golden -bellied water mouse). One of Australia's two aquatic mammals, the platypus being the other. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. IF NO CHEMICAL TOILET, DIG A HOLE AT LEAST 30CM DEEP . There is access to a drinking water supply (mountain river water), or you can bring your own water. After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking. You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline. There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. Please note that we have very limited reception service for mobiles, so let's communicate via messages before you arrive in our area. I can provide a camping setup if you need extra bedding or you don't have any camping equipment or tent.Pitch your tent or park your camper in the native bushland with the pristine Numeralla River as your boundary fence.  Try your hand at trout fishing and enjoy endless tracks for bushwalking and observing the native wildlife.  Wander along the river banks just enjoying the serenity of the location and witness platypus feeding,  water dragons sunning themselves and the brown trout fly feeding.  The river is wide enough to launch a kayak and has many swimming holes for the kids to enjoy! We had an awesome time at Kybeyan. Liz our host was so very helpful. They guided us to the spot very well. And we were shown an awesome spot to spend special time at. We highly recommend staying at Kybeyan Retreat, site 3

Kybeyan Retreat
Had another wonderful stay at Kybeyan Retreat! One of my favourite Hipcamps. Plenty of bushland to explore and hike through. A fresh stream for a quick dip. Private campsites away from other campers and no phone reception to truly switch off for a bit.

Ahh, the serenity…. A dog friendly, off leash, private campsite with a big fire! Easy to find and easy to access.

Kybeyan Retreat
A lovely location — sites are very private from each other and there's a great variety of kinds of site to choose from. Book early if you'd like to be near the river. Signage about sites could do with a little improvement; also, if you go too far along Kybeyan Road you'll come to a big sign with the street number prominently displayed — and that's NOT where you go in. If you've gone this far, go back to the previous gate.

Kybeyan Retreat
I have to admit that I was very disappointed with this site. Firstly, after you cross the Numeralla Bridge, the gate is not signed as Kybeyan Retreat, simply the property name, which makes it quite confusing. Secondly, once in the property, the campsite was very, very poor and the river was pretty overgrown. I actually in the end didn't stay, just turned around and drove home. The cost was ridiculous for what you didn't get. especially when I stayed the previous 2 nights at the NRMA Jindabyne for total of $66, not $36 per night, plus the Hicamp charge. I will be honest and I will be lucky to use or look at any other properties on Hicamp.

Kybeyan Retreat
Fabulous directions made the property easy to find. Lovely peaceful camp-site by the river. Unfortunatly we were only able to spend one night , but we will be back.
