Family-friendly
Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
Caravans and RV's that are fully self contained eg: has a toilet are welcome. Sorry no tents We are only 10-15 mins to Nelson Bay centre. Beaches are just down the road also which includes Birubi Beach which goes all the way to Stockton and many more near by. Right next door is Murrays Brewery and Sunset in the Vines, very handy to be able to walk next door (a really short walk) and have dinner and a drink. Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road. Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood and a rubbish bin all included in the price. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way of which you will be camping on. Pictures show this.Kez and Butch Off-Grid Bush Stay caters for Fully Self-Contained Caravans, Motorhomes and RV setups ONLY.  That means if you don't have your own toilet facilities, we are not the place for you. We would appreciate if you include what type of van your in. We are located in the beautiful Port Stephens Area, adjoining the National Park and Murrays Brewery and Winery. Just a short drive to main beaches, restaurants and boat ramps. We are the perfect location for peaceful serenity, dam views, listen to the native wildlife, and all the while optimally positioned in the Port Stephens Peninsula off the main IN-ROAD Nelson Bay Road, but without the high holiday site prices. Pull up and open your awning/set up onto the properties dam... and hello relaxation central. The site has: - a nice outlook and lush grass for your enjoyment - partly sun and part shade, with north aspect - overlook the dam. Try your lucky at catching yabbies or tadpoles in the dam.  Just ask us about a trap or how to.... - cater for a single caravan/Motorhome/ RV or Campervan per site, (MUST HAVE A TOILET) -  The site is set at the other end of the circular driveway of the main house and overlooking the dam. (Please see photos). - Site is provided with stable graded drive access and easy access - A fire pit is available outside of Fire Ban seasons. Timber supplied. Rubbish bin also provided. Both at no extra cost. WE REQUEST that you follow local rules and regulations in particular with regard to FIRES. Port Stephens camping without the c
We had an enjoyable long weekend camping at Kerry-ann's place in our Hybrid caravan plus a swag. It was quiet and convenient to the places we wanted to visit in Port Stephens. The directions were easy to follow and the site was reasonably level. The fire pit was a nice surprise and we made good use of it. Thank you for allowing us to stay and for making it a lovely experience.

Nice, peaceful spot. Ventured next door to Murray’s brewery which had cold beer, great music and even better pizza! Kids enjoyed feeding the sheep and playing on the swings by the dam. Butch, the host was friendly. The supplied fire pit, wood and pots was a nice touch. Would stay for longer than an overnighter next time.

Great location close to heaps of activities. Friendly hosts and beautiful site. Kids had a great time catching yabbies and feeding the sheep. Would return and recommend to others. We had 2 vans travelling together and we were all comfortable.

Great for an over night stop. Got eaten alive by either sand flys or mosquitoes. Very small lake and way to close to the main house for privacy.
