This is a 5 acre piece of land, where you will find your basic camp ground set up as you come through the gates. We are offering two back in sites and an RV rental. And soon a couple tiny A-frame cabins. We are hoping to make these sites EV friendly also in the near future.
We love dogs but please keep them on a leash, and pick up their mess!
Propane fires are allowed at each site, ( not provided) but would prefer using the communal one provided.
Just a few miles back into town you'll find the town aquatic center, and a few basic stores. ( grocery, sports, ranch,) Ely has Bowling, Golf, Team Roping events during the summer, a couple small museums.

Go see the famous ghost train right in town. or take a trip over to Baker Nevada for some great Hiking up Mount Wheeler (great basin national park)!

The Schellraiser music festival offers a variety of seasonal camping options on our 80-acre private campground in the cool high desert of far Eastern Nevada's Steptoe Valley, near the small town of McGill.
Our Lotus Belle-brand bell tents are solar powered and fully furnished, with king-, queen- and twin-size beds, Avocado-brand mattresses, rugs, loveseats, floor lamps, charging ports and wi-fi service.
Our campground also features two solar-powered shipping container homes; the larger of the two homes also has a small kitchen area and now serves as our clubhouse from Thursday through Sunday nights.
Car camping and pitch-your-own-tent sites without power are available, as well, as are furnished yurts without power.
We currently have a heated six-unit restroom/shower trailer on site.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: We are totally off-grid, in an extremely remote part of rural Eastern Nevada. To reach our campground, you must travel eight-tenths of a mile off the main highway, on a dirt road that is susceptible to flooding from record snowmelt from April to mid-July during wet years. Drivers with Teslas and other low-clearance vehicles are strongly advised to look elsewhere for lodging; Subaru drivers may actually enjoy the brief trip out.

ABOUT THE AREA: Schellraiser is just minutes away from the High Schells and Bristlecone wilderness areas, and within an hour's drive of Nevada's wildest mountain and desert scenery.
High peaks, rugged canyons, wild rock formations, natural hot springs and ghost towns are all around us, and the surrounding area is teeming with wildlife, including the state's largest elk herd.
ABOUT US: We're the home base of the annual Schellraiser micro-fest, which brings bands like Ladytron, Mercury Rev, Blonde Redhead, Asleep At The Wheel, The Joy Formidable, Blitzen Trapper, Old 97's, Houndmouth, Death Valley Girls, Titus Andronicus, Nikki Lane, Shannon Shaw and BRONCHO to the nearby McGill Pool Park each June.

Overview
About
Located in eastern Nevada’s Egan Mountain Range near Ely, highlights of the park include the six giant beehive-shaped stone ovens. Used from 1876 to 1879 to produce charcoal to process silver, they were later used as a shelter for travelers, including supposedly bandits. Visitors can explore these well-preserved ovens, go hiking, mountain biking, fishing, wildlife spotting, and stargazing the dark night skies, while OHV trails provide access to BLM land. There’s one developed campground inside the park, with campsites for tent and RV campers (no hookups), along with picnic tables, fire rings, BBQ grills, pit toilets, and seasonal water.
Notable campgrounds
The Willow Creek Campground offers 14 sites for tent and RV campers, and includes one ADA site.
- Best for RV campers with large rigs: Two pull-through sites are ideal for larger RVs.
- Best for tent campers and small RVs: 12 campsites are available for campers with tents and smaller RVs.
- Best for groups: One group area offers space for groups to overnight, and can be reserved in advance.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Arrive early in the day, especially during peak periods, since all campsites are first-come first-served.
- If your travel plans are flexible, try visiting during the week and during off-peak and non-holiday times.
- If you’re traveling with a group, you can reserve overnight accommodations in the group area.
When to go
The park is open all year for camping and day use. Summers are the most popular time for visiting the park. Water is only available between May and September. The park is open at all times of the day, which makes it a great place to visit at night to see the stars in the incredibly dark skies. Visit in the winter for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Winter snow can impact road conditions and access.
Know before you go
- Bring everything you need with you, as there are limited amenities in the park. Supplies are available in Ely.
- Do not climb on the ovens, as it’s not safe and can cause damage.
- The park is located at a high elevation of between 7,000 and 8,000 feet; be aware of potential altitude issues.
- Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash less than six feet in length.
- A Nevada fishing license is required.
