10 acres of true primitive camping in beautiful forest with lots of boulders and interesting features.
No specific tent spots or fire pits. walk in and choose your own of the entire 10 acres. Practice fire safety and build a safe space for your fire. there is PLENTY of downed wood for your fire. Please do not cut live trees.
This property will only work for people who either have 4wd - off road capability and comfortability. Otherwise you will want to park on the street and hike in with your stuff.
A little ways up the rough road is a no trespassing sign - that does not pertain to campers! keep going and enjoy. the property bounds are marked with neon flagging.
You may be able to get a camper / rv onto the site depending on its capability, though you will not be able to drive to far back into the property.

This land is kept purposely wild for those seeking a true back-to-nature / backcountry experience. Located in the beautiful, rural, farming town of Ashfield. The surrounding areas have lots to offer as well.
CAMPING OPTIONS:
Plentiful street parking. There is a small gravel driveway that any car could get into, and there is a longer dirt pull around and road that goes back up into the property that would require a good off road vehicle and some chutzpah. My Honda Pilot gets up and down the road but its not pretty! Use with caution!
So - Here are your options ...
1. Park in the gravel / dirt driveway and set up camp nearby for easy, accessible, car camping with one very large tent or several smaller ones.
2. Park your SMALL RV / camper / or van (leveling required!) and enjoy the rest of the 10 acres on foot. Caution pulling forward on the dirt driveway there are some rocks/roots/stumps!
3. Tent camping. This gives you the most options. If you have small (probably max 4 person ) tents, there are lovely little spots to set those up all over the property. Walk back, wander around, even continue back up past where the road ends and there are magical little tent spots everywhere.
What to know:
- No outhouse yet (currently building one) use proper waste disposal, catholes, etc.
- No designated fire area though fires are allowed just be SAFE! feel free to use up any downed branches, there are plenty! You will not need to buy firewood if you don't mind doing a little collecting.
- No trash on site. Pack it in - pack it out and leave no trace.

- Hiking, biking, boating, paddling, climbing etc.
DAR state forest (lake & trails), Chapel Ledge (climbing), Chapel falls (swimming) , The Deerfield River and ZOAR outdoor for white water adventures and zip lining.
- Ashfield Center has Elmers Store Restaurant, The Ashfield Lakehouse, and Country Pie. Spruce corner restaurant very close by in Goshen.
- 20-30 min to very cute Shelburne Falls with the Glacial Potholes and Bridge of Flowers.
- 30 mins to Northampton, MA high end and funky shopping, events, restaurants.
- 37 mins to north adams MA (Berkshires), mt greylock (tallest peak in MA), MassMoCa very cool art museum / music venue. Fresh Grass music festival
- 30 mins to Greenfield - Green River Festival, Wormtown, Strangecreek.
- 52 mins to Tanglewood (Berkshires)
- 40 Mins Berkshire Mountains and Appalachian trail
