The Runamuk Acres Conservation Farm is settled at the foot of western Maine's Bigelow Moutain Range, in the village of North New Portland, with views of Mt Abram to the west, and Black Hill looming to the east. The farm boasts a large vegetable garden, perennial flower beds, herb gardens, chickens and sheep on pasture, a buzzing apiary, and a lush meadow with a secret forest beyond. A love for nature and a desire to preserve the landscape for future generations is the heart of Runamuk. The farm practices agricultural conservation for the health of honeybees, native pollinators and other beneficial insects. Because pollinators are a keystone species, by focusing on their conservation Runamuk is able to provide a benefit to the entire ecosystem. That’s why Runamuk’s mission is to practice “Bee-friendly farming for a more sustainable tomorrow”. Camping at Runamuk Acres

Quiet, Private Camp

Great place to camp. The trail was a bit rough to drive though, but definitely doable. We took a van and an suv with a trailer through with no problem. The spot was secluded and quiet. Our kids loved stopping by to see the sheep and pigs on the way through to the site. Samantha had everything prepared for us when we arrived. Definitely a great spot to get away!

Camping at Runamuk Acres

Sam's place is great. The tent site is way back in a young forest (must have been cut in the last 20 years). Plenty of places to set up a tent, and Sam provided a ton of potable water, a fire ring, and a nicely painted picnic table. The real hit for our kids was the sheep. In particular there was one little lamb who came out to visit whenever we walked down the path. Sam was welcoming and answered all our questions. A great place for a great price. Would definitely recommend!

4th of July In a Tent!!

Samantha was very helpful and easy to reach! The farm is a very nice spread with a lot of acreage so you feel like you’re in your own little world. We enjoyed being close to Rangeley so we could hike and kayak. Would definitely recommend :)

Confirm before you go.

Hipcamp never notified Samantha ( the host) of our reservation. When we showed up to camp, Samantha did not turn us away. But she was not prepared either. On the reservation it states that there would be a place for our trash. There was not. In the future I recommend Samantha B's Land but know that you will be taking your trash with you. Also confirm your reservation with a phone call before you go! We loved where she was able to put us up and the farm scenery was spectacular.
