Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
We are a 400 acre ranch nestled in the mountains of Shasta County. There is a mile long creek that runs through the property. We have multiple hot spring pools ranging in various temperatures. Dry and overland campsites available. Activities: Boating, hiking, kayaking, 4x4, mountain bike, and fishing.Sleep under the stars and become one with Mother-Nature. Pitch your tent, take a swim, go fishing in the river or soak in our natural hot springs. Pick a spot on the hillside or down near the creek in your RV. Plenty of things to do on and off the property. Some areas of campgrounds require 4x4 access.

Kosk Creek is beautiful! Our 4WD didnt navigate the hillside campsites very well, so we opted for a sundown soak in the hot springs.

I had different expectations for the price of camping there. Not worth the cost, the public walks right through the site on the way to the hot springs.

The real deal
So fun and adventurous! A map of the Hotsprings locations would have been helpful bc we still aren't sure if we found them all. But it was a bit charming to search and discover them. We got there in the dark the first night and spent an hour trying to get the hottest one cool enough to soak in to no avail. So a little more info up front would have saved the time and effort. There are four cement built ones that we found along the river in the morning light and loved those. Also the cooler one carved right into the granite made a perfect bath soak to take in the stars. We were the only ones there until 8am. Bliss! Our dog got cut on some stray barbed wire and we took a good 20 minutes getting stickers off him but we all had a great time and want to come back! So nice to fall asleep listening to the rushing river and walk along a blackberry filled path for breakfast on the way to the springs! The hosts were so nice to meet us at the gate bc it's a long haul out there in the dark. Worth it!

Overall enjoyable stay
Pros: Very responsive to messages, helpful in meeting us at the campground gate and making sure we had what we needed to enjoy our stay, recommended camping in the shade (which we did and were glad we did), gave tips about how to get to the hot springs and enjoy them. Cons: I think we didn't realize that this would be a frequently used path, and people were coming and going (on foot and sometimes with dirt bikes/4 wheelers) at all hours of the day and night to visit the hot springs/creek. Not a terrible thing, but not something we were expecting. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and it might be fun to go back with friends. We were ok with it being a dry camp and appreciated that they have weed whacked. There was plenty of room to get settled, turn around, etc., even with our long trailer. Overall it was a great experience, but looking on the map we thought we would be more secluded/away from people, so it's not quite what we expected.

Kosk Creek Campgrounds
Beautiful and quiet campground with well manicured and partially shaded site. Adjacent creek and very gracious and helpful hosts made this the perfect getaway for our family. Tons of activities in area and a little market about two miles away…Our host Brenda was particularly helpful in finding local activities for the kiddos and making sure we had enough drinking water. We will definitely be back again.
