Farm and Forest

15 sites ¡ RVs, Tents22 acres ¡ Lexington, KY
This land has previously been a tobacco farm, a hay farm, and is now home to a few beef cattle. We acquired the property in 2017, and have been making it our own and enjoying it ever since. We have blazed trails through the woods for hiking, created campsites with fire rings, farmed hay, and grown various vegetables for self-consumption. We love the proximity of the farm to town, yet the seclusion we feel when we are out there.

Treehouses, Off the Grid!

5 sites ¡ Lodging285 acres ¡ Germantown, KY
Owned by my Dad who said I could build a tree house on it in 2014. It really was a dream come true. My Dad's original intent was to make it into a huge farm. Now, he is content with building a few treehouses! I have wanted a tree house since I was 10 years old. My siblings and I would spend hours make believing our own tree houses of twigs, rock and moss. It was where we felt at peace. When I turned 35 I knew something was missing in my life. I returned to doing fun adventures again and one led to another and we found tree climbing. EarthJOY tree adventures was founded in 2007 and since then we have guided 1000's of climbers into the trees and watch as they do tree tricks like yoga poses and coming down like spiderman. This land is magical and a world of adventure awaits you!

The best camping near Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park guide

Overview

About

“United we stand, divided we fall.” Named after the battle of the American Revolution, Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park is a land of history and cedar glades, where thankfully you won’t find any more warfare. Tramp around like ancient bison on the Buffalo Trace trail. Hike the River Trail to see where Daniel Boone and his men were captured while on a saltmaking expedition. Oogle the rare and endangered wildflower, Short’s Goldenrod, protected in the 15-acre Nature Preserve. Definitely don’t miss the Pioneer Museum where you can see a mastodon tooth, prehistoric fossils and relics from the Civil War! With so much to see and do here, you’ll want to stay a few days, so bring the dog and camp out on the grass under huge, shady trees. If you plan on canoeing down the Licking River, do what is right and wear a raccoon hat. You’ll be a part of history of the great state of Kentucky, and maybe some funny pictures, too.
