We offer 2-3 acres of a choose your own spot camping area. Located within the Picayune Strand State Forest, full of peace and quiet, and plenty of birds. We have a facility building that runs off a generator for running water. With that, we have a washroom, that consists of a large shower, and 2 bathroom stalls. we have then propane heated hot water for a nice hot shower. The sites are very " free range". Nothing that is too designated, so you have a free choice of where to pitch your tent, or park your camper van, or your RV.
Come and stay within the Evergaldes in Naples, of SWFL. A special private place like no other. You may have the place all to yourself, or share with others. It is not all all populated like other campgrounds. we have no time limit either. please contact me for any and all questions you may have!

Here at Big Sky Sanctuary, we are currently working on a 6 Acre restoration and reforestation botanical garden project. 2 fenced acres of a developing fruit and botanical forest, and the remaining 4 acres is grassland with some trees and a seasonal pond.
We have planted a variety of plants and fruit trees; Mangos, Bananas, Plantains, Pomegranate, Figs, Ice Cream Bean Tree, Mulberries, Star Apples, Rose Apples, Soursop, Eggfruit, Peanut Butter Fruit Tree, White Sapote, Black Sapote, Jujubes, Jaboticabas, Lychee, Coconuts, Papaya, Avocado, Starfruit, Noni, Grumichama, Cherimoya, Jackfruit, Longan, Cacao, Sugar Apple, Pond Apples, Guavas, Pineapple Guava, Loquats, Pineapples, June Plum, Strawberry Fruit Tree, Surinam Cherry, Monstera Deliciosa, Prickly Pear Cactus, Lemons, Key Limes, and more - most of which are in our enclosed 2 acres.
We are allowing nature to regenerate itself in the grassland area by essentially not touching it / not mowing everything down. We have our trails designed, but all else is up to nature; letting the plant and tree life build itself back. We will be digging ponds and planting plants as well to assist this process.
Right now, we have 2 Campsites, all of which are located in the 4 acres of grassland/prairie.
There is plenty of wildlife around for you to enjoy out here. Enjoy waking up to the sounds of birds and not the sounds of cars.
-Our Trails are great for Biking, running, walking, one-wheeling and other electric vehicles (e-scooters, e-bikes, etc.)!
Big Sky Sanctuary is nestled in the backwoods country of Fort Myers in a 3,137 acre Preserve. Far enough away from the city to where light-pollution is low, but still have the convenience of gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and entertainment within 10-15 minutes away. Closest Gas station is 6 minutes away and (2) different Publix locations are within a 15 minute drive.

Lazy Springs Recreation Park is a straight-shot off the HWY from our road, 13.7 miles away where you can ATV/Mud, Motor-Bike, Jet ski, kayak and swim.
Depending on traffic, you can get to Fort Myers Beach in 45 minutes or less, and others (Barefoot Beach - Bonita Springs) in less than an hour.

We are centrally located in the rural area of the Bayshore Community with only a 5-minute drive to I-75, a 20-minute drive to Downtown Fort Myers, and a 20-minute drive to Babcock Ranch.
Being only 5 minutes away from I-75 makes it quick and easy to either drive down south to Bonita Springs to enjoy our local beaches or north to Punta Gorda to explore!
Downtown Fort Myers is about a 20-minute drive and has many local restaurants and shops if you want to go out and about. They typically have events on the weekends like Art Walk and Music Walk!
We are a 20-minute drive from Babcock Ranch which is the first solar-powered town in America. It is a community open to the public that has several walking/biking trails, a beautiful lake for kayaking/fishing, and a small dog park. They also have a restaurant (Lakehouse Kitchen & Bar) that looks out over the water and live entertainment on certain days of the week!
If you are looking for a full farm-to-table experience, Buckingham Farms is 20 minutes from us and is a 85-acre farm with fresh produce grown hydroponically! We are also about 20 minutes from 31 Produce/Cracker Shack Cafe which is a local U-Pick farm that has seasonal fruits/vegetables available, as well as a restaurant, farm animals, and "gem mining"!
With just a 1 to 2-minute drive, we have two parks, Nalle Grade Park and Pop Ash Creek Preserve, for those who enjoy nature walks, fishing, or birding. There are also a handful of other nature preserves and parks in the local area that are around a 20 to 25-minute drive!
There are many other restaurants, parks, and local businesses nearby for you to enjoy if you want to get out and explore the local area!

Fort Myers Beach is a barrier island in southwest Florida with seven miles of white-sand beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The shores in this area are also world-renowned for their shelling, especially at nearby Sanibel Island.

Fort Myers Beach Surrounds
The seven miles of shore on Fort Myers Beach is easy-access and ideal for picnics, laying out, and sunsets. For two miles of natural beaches with no development in sight, head to Lovers Key State Park just south of Fort Myers Beach. RV travelers will find a variety of RV resorts with full hookups, wifi, and additional amenities across the water on the mainland and in Fort Myers.
Sanibel Island
Sanibel Island is the next island over from Fort Myers Beach. Hundreds of species of seashells regularly wash up on its shores, making it a beachcomber’s paradise. The island’s J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge protects a large mangrove system and has superb hiking trails and bird watching.
Estero Bay
Situated between Fort Myers Beach and the mainland, the Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve has small islands and miles of mangroves to explore by boat (kayak rentals are available throughout the area). The Estero Bay State Park’s mainland section also has mountain biking and hiking trails.
Big Cypress Preserve
Fort Myers Beach is about 1.5 hours from the Big Cypress Preserve. This expansive region of cypress swamp and pinelands is home to alligators, black bear, and the Florida Panther. It can be explored by hiking trails or roadside observation areas. It’s also an International Dark Sky Place with excellent visibility of the stars at night.
Everglades
The Gulf Shore Visitor Center of Everglades National Park is also about 90 minutes from Fort Myers Beach. This is where paddlers can access the park’s remote Ten Thousand Islands section and take a boat ride.
When to go
Fort Myers Beach is excellent for fall, winter, and spring camping. Summers are hot and humid, so summer visitors may want to skip the tent and book lodging with a fan or AC. Summer and fall are hurricane season on the Atlantic and Gulf, when it’s important to monitor any approaching storms using the National Hurricane Center’s forecasts.
