Spacious, level camping well-suited for travel trailers over 40 ft long.
Our property tells the story of Old Colorado, New Colorado, and something caught between. In a state booming in adventure tourism and outdoor recreation, our little slice of Heaven offers something few other places can: a chance to glimpse the ways of the past (this town is a former mining community) just as the tides of change lap at the doorstep (trail system under construction, local farm-to-table movement on the rise). Join us: as we re-wild and regenerate our property and this land, slowly turning it into a food forest, we'd love to have you as a guest. Learn more about this land: Come visit the hanging garden of Colorado's high SW desert! With abundant quiet of our small town, this spot is great for 1-30 nights. Whether you simply enjoy the escape into rural Colorado or want to find your wild on the hundreds of acres of public land, trails, rocks, or rivers, we can't wait to welcome you to our home off the beaten track. Out your back door: views of the La Sal and San Juan Mountains ain't bad either! This spot is on the same 1/2 acre parcel where our home is located. Our huge grassy yard is a common area that we'll share, but you'll have your own private zone adjacent to your campsite. To stretch out under our apple trees, hang out with the chickens (and ducks and geese), or simply unplug just meander over to "The Wild Side," our working farm and homestead-in-development. Our farm features orchard fruits like apples, plums, apricots quince, and walnuts, plus crops our Farmer-In-Residence lovingly grows. We also have a lively flock of free-range birds who may (or may not) say hi. We are 100% organic, and committed to regenerative and traditional food cultivation. Beyond our property, this town features amazing paved and gravel roads perfect for biking and running—and our growing trail system is completely accessible by foot or bike from our property. Take a short drive into red rock canyons or fish in the San Miguel River. Or, for a bigger day, check out all our neighboring mountains have to share! Come and join us: we can't wait to share the wonders of our hanging desert garden! * Please note: we do not allow the use of electric heaters on this property.*Join us in the hanging garden of Colorado's high SW desert!
