Redwoods nearby? Forest Bathing? Dunks in the Deepwater Pond? Wood Fired Paella? Hiking on site? Have it all and relax at our forest glen located in Southern Humboldt 5 miles up private dirt road (2 wheel drive OK- but sports car height is not good ( IE not a BMW or Tesla)--higher clearance is best.) Our land is part of an old collectively owned by "back to the landers" group from the 70's. The parcel is over 500 acres, but our portion is about 40 acres. There is a large deepwater pond with a rowboat (and frogs) orchard, stream, and many hiking trails my husband created and dirt roads winding through the property. 420 friendly! Enjoy the birds in the morning and frogs on the pond at night from your well equipped tent with queen mattress and comfy comforters, sitting space, and wood counter for food prep. ( propane ok) No fires allowed at site but enjoy the large communal fire pit and terrace steps away. Our deep water pond (15 ft) is FULL and ready for warm summer swims. Wifi and electric for charging and an electric water kettle for coffee making is available at the communal space. EV charging is possible but slow off of our solar panels. Hiking trails on our 500 acre property and Lost Coast Trail at Shelter Cove Black Sands beach is 1 hour away. Ave of the Giants is 45 minutes away. We encourage 2 night stays as it is a bit of a trek to get here. Your hosts have everything you might need ( cooking wise) and can arrange for cooking equipment and utensils. Need Paella pans? Paella is our passion and we can offer a Paella Cookout customized to your dietary needs for an additional fee. We are 5 miles up a private dirt road ( 2 wheel drive is ok but caution to lower clearance vehicles) You will be deep in the relaxing forest. The 16 foot bell tent is quite large and can accommodate 2 more travelers. However they would need to provide sleeping bags and mats. Children under 10 not recommended The Chimes tent is slightly smaller 13 foot bell tent set on a platform 6 feet off the ground-- literally in the trees! We provide one citronella candle. Don't forget your headlamps. We are 35 miles (once on the pavement) to Lost Coast Trail and Shelter Cove. 20 miles to Ave of the Giants.

Site 1 - Oak Knoll Forest Glamping Tent
Lovely place and people
My wife and I loved staying on Karyn's land. She was so kind and fun and even make us amazing paella! Their site was simple but had what we needed. We slept great! Their place feels so far out but it was simple to get to. They made us feel welcome but also respected our privacy. Beautiful views of the forest and heard owls at night. Looking forward to going back!

In the Trees- The Chimes Site
My girlfriend, her dog and I had an amazing time at The Chimes Site. Karyn and Gray were gracious hosts and we are very grateful that they open up their beautiful property to campers like us. Be sure to follow their driving directions exactly, take it slow, and you should have no problem finding the place. I loved how quiet and serene this site was contrasted by the occasional ring of the chimes in the trees. It was like being rung into the present moment of this beautiful place. Very relaxing and perfect for those seeking to escape the noise of modern life. Also a great spot for stargazing. There is a common area with a fire pit, food prep areas, Wi-Fi and charging. Along with the site having a spacious tent, bed, couch, water and compost toilet nearby, this camping spot had all the experiences of camping out in nature without the bother of lugging around and setting up a bunch of gear. I'll definitely be back and would definitely recommend this site to fellow campers who want a more immersive nature experience but with the conveniences of a well equipped campsite.

Beautiful location. What an amazing piece of property and a real gift to “glamp” after a Week in our tent.

Oak Knoll Forest Glamping Tents
We loved our quick 1 night stay on Karyn's land! this was the perfect place for us to spend a night on our roadtrip from Seattle to San Francisco. We would love to come back and explore further! Be sure to bring a head lamp and don't try to drive in at night as the roads could be a bit confusing and hard to see.

Oak Knoll Forest Glamping Tents
We were warmly welcomed by Karyn and her co-host, who provided very helpful written notes about accessing and using the space and the property, and who were readily available to give input throughout our stay. The spacious tent and out-in-the-open-behind-a-tree compost toilet are set up a comfortable distance away from the main house, while the communal fire pit, outdoor shower, and coffee/food prep area are just beside the house, but the hosts left us plenty of room to enjoy ourselves while close by. The road to the property is very rough and takes a long time to traverse, so I would not recommend planning to use this site as a base for day trips further away. However, the remoteness lends itself to beautiful stargazing and night sound concerts.

Oak Knoll Forest Glamping Tents
Loved this spot quite a lot, the yurt/tent is spacious and well laid out with a queen size bed already prepared. There were fresh flowers from the garden on the bedside table, fresh water just outside the door. The hosts are very kind, thouhtful and welcoming making the stay feel safe and comfortable.
