The Salmon River watershed is among the cleanest in the world. There are plenty of hiking trails and beautiful places to experience. Osprey’s Perch is set up well for serving as a base camp for local activities like hunting, fishing, kayaking, rafting, day hiking, or just spending time on the river at one of the few private access points in existence. Camp is set up in a way that enables you to roast some brussel sprouts, or bake a pie if you so desire. I mean, how many camps offer that! The commercial gas range also serves as a great backup when fire restrictions are in effect! I hope you enjoy your stay and if you have any questions please reach out! Learn more about this land: Osprey’s perch is a small campsite perched above the Salmon River. We recently installed a pit toilet just downhill from the camp and opened up to tent camping. There is private access to secluded swimming and fishing holes on the lower Salmon River. A bridge provides shelter from rain if needed. The area is known for its world class steelhead fishing and is unparalleled in its natural beauty. The elk even stop by occasionally on a late winter/early spring morning if you are lucky enough to get the timing right…Small campsite with trail down to the Salmon River. The site has a great barbecue pit, a commercial gas range, two picking tables, and plenty of room for multiple tents. There is private access to swimming and fishing hole on the lower Salmon River. A bridge provides shelter from rain if needed. The Salmon River is known for its world class steelhead fishing when open November through February, and whitewater rafting and kayaking through the spring months. There is usually no onsite host at this site, but it is easy to find, and quite private. Please do your best to conserve water as there just isn’t very much available in the summer. Any firewood in or around camp can be used for free, if you want to purchase some good bbq wood, ask in your booking request and the host will be able to track some down for you. There is a pit toilet located just below Camp just above the concrete bridge foundation in between camp and the river. TP may not be stocked so make sure to bring some just in case.

Osprey’s Perch
Wonderful experience!
Great private spot with easy access to the river. It's right under the highway, so every time a car passed by it sounded kind of like thunder, but it was cool lol. The grate over the fire pit was useful, especially since we forgot to bring almost everything needed to cook. Luckily we didn't really need any of it with that grate. We didn't try the grill and oven but it looked like it was in great condition. Also the hose at the site was a great touch. Helped us stay cooled off when we were at our site. Thank you for everything!

Osprey’s Perch
Cool spot. Great to have the grate over the fire and access to the bbq. Under a bridge, but noise didn’t bother us. River access, but ideal sitting spot is across a short wade across a river. There are a lot of other river spots nearby and cool market.

I was unable to stay at the site due to unforeseen circumstances but William was amazing and very helpful! If I’m in the area again, I would definitely stay at this site!

Really nice for the price
For such a ridiculously low price this site was actually really nice. The huge propane stove was amazing, and the fire pit, tables, and benches exceeding my expectations. I believe the host is still working on this site, so I'm thinking it will get better. You can hear the river down below, but it is a bit hard to climb down too, at least at this time. The site was also pretty private. The only strange thing was that it was directly under a highway bridge which decreased the "nature" experience. However, almost no traffic on that rtoad, so it wasn't a problem. If you are passing through and need a nice campsite for a bargain, come here. Normally you only get nothing but an empty field for $25. Also the host was very responsive and friendly.
