Site 3 - Independence Way
It was a beautiful location - tucked in the redwood forest. I thought it was over priced for the quality of amenities. The toilet is a porta potty. The shower is in a pop up tent stall and right next to their house. I read sauna and was picturing… a wood sauna room situation? The sauna is a lotus bell tent with small wood burning stove. It also didn’t feel very private as you have the owners home looking over the camping are, albeit a cute, quaint, lovely looking home. Ground was completely saturated, so we were kind of squishing around in mud, but hey that’s camping in March. Maybe they would wood chip mulch the area more heavily to improve this. I’m sure most of the year it’s fine.
In a nutshell, it felt like they tried to add amenities like shower and sauna to raise the cost, but the quality of those amenities were not that great… let’s just say I wasn’t inspired to shower or sauna.

Quiet and beautiful space
I stayed 2 nights with my dog and it was so nice. A quiet space, I was the only person there on a Thursday night. The kitchen area has the sink, sponge, soap and lots of griling equipment. There's also the microwave and toaster oven, and fridge which was so nice to have instead of bringing a cooler. Blow up mattress was comfy and the fire pit and i love all the seating options in the tent site! It's mostly shaded but there was some morning sunlight, esp nice over the hammock. It is also pretty close to dog friendly beaches so we caught a beautiful sunny beach day on our way back home.

Peaceful camping
AHHHMAZING. They have thought of everything. It’s so peaceful and so beautiful. All you need to bring is your sleeping bags/pillows and food. They have firewood you can purchase or you can bring your own. Directions were perfect.

Great place for a break
Another great time with hosts Mima and Scott. This site is perfect for a RV Van or camping truck. But if you have a tent, that works too. Not too far from everything you need and still nice and quiet. Your host will do anything to help your stay be relaxing.

Camping with great utilities
We were surprised by the lighting of the camp site; it was lovely. Mima had all the utilities, including a shower “tent” with hot water, a gas grill and a big charcoal broiler. Mima was so considerate and lent us her tarp, hair dryer and kitchenwares. We loved our first winter camping experience.

Laid back camping with gourmet food
Wow wow wow! What a treat it was to getaway to Mima and Scott’s hipcamp! We added on the three course dinner by chef Mima and I CANNOT RECOMMEND it enough! We didn’t add on the breakfast skillet, but after having dinner, we should have! We didn’t use the rented sauna because we built a fire in the fire pit and enjoyed that before we retreated to our van for our dinner. Seriously, we cannot get over that dinner! We will definitely be back just to have chef Mima’s cooking again! Thank you so much, Mima and Scott! We hope to return again soon!
