Fishing at Cole Ranch is a Love/Hate thing. If you Love to Fish, you will Hate to leave. Gateway to Yosemite National Park, the Mother Lode region, hiking trails, and spelunking opportunities. All sites have access to our community outdoor kitchen, which has a refrigerator, coffee bar, sink, BBQ's, and stoves. Also available is our bathrooms, quite possibly the cleanest campground bathrooms in the 13 western states, which include flushable toilets, two sinks, and warm showers. Book your visit now. (Group bookings must be approved by host. Group bookings that have not been pre-approved may be cancelled.) (Cole Ranch is a working ranch. These new sites will be more secluded and private than current sites, each with its own path to the river. Contact Barry, coleranch23@icloud.com, for more information. **ADVISORY** 4/18/24 River is currently running about 3' above normal. Except for Fisherman's Hideout, all sites remain open. Fisherman's Hideout is currently under water, but should be open some time in May. Fishing is great right now, but water activities will be limited. Will update as changes occur.

Fisherman's Hideout

Serene, water hideout

Beautiful environment, very accomodating and friendly host. We were to stay in Fisherman's Cove, but it was underwater. We got a very private spot in trade... thank you Barry and wife. I wish we had more time to stay!

Cole Ranch is the perfect weekend getaway — not too far from the East Bay so you won’t arrive tired from the drive; serene and peaceful location with a wonderful distant view of Yosemite; super clean restrooms and communal kitchen; and friendly and communicative hosts.

Perfect Trip!

Camping here was so peaceful, the flowing river and lush landscape made an outstanding site. Barry went above and beyond to help make the stay amazing. The outdoor kitchen had everything you could need. The bathrooms were very clean.

River’s Edge Campsites

The land the site is on is beautiful and obviously well cared for. There is great river access, as well as boats, paddle boards, etc to use. There’s a full kitchen and super nice bathrooms, and everything is well stocked. We have stayed here multiple times and had very positive experiences. The owners are great, and we will definitely be coming back.

We had an amazing time at The Cole Ranch. Barry and Chrissy were very welcoming. The whole place is spectacular. We enjoyed the free canoes. We had the whole campsite to ourselves and that was a first for us. We will definitely be back in the summer.

River's Edge Premium RV Site 5

A piece of paradise along the river

RV site #5 at Cole Ranch is the premier spot. It is situated higher than the tent sites while overlooking the beautiful river. The site is close to the bathrooms and community outdoor kitchen. It has access to water spigots with very long hose reels. No issues with the electrical hookups and Barry goes out of his way to provide various connections and accessories. My 30amp connection wasn't long enough from where I set up camp and he was kind to provide an extension. The firepits are movable aslong as you use the included mat to shield the beautiful green grass from the heat. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need from propane burners, BBQ grill, coffee maker, tons of food prep stainless steel counters, cutting boards, and cookingware. There is also hot water from the kitchen faucet and a fridge available if requested. The restrooms are a bonus! A resident of Cole Ranch visted the site to ensure the bathroom was restocked and kept clean. Other amenities include usage of the canoes, paddleboard, life vests. My fiance and I had the place to ourselves and we enjoyed every minute of it. Our dogs had a blast in the river. The entire hipcamp feels close to nature as we've spotted a fox, pair of geese, hawks, the host's cat, and the river otter. We heard coyotes at night but we felt safe. Barry and his wife are wonderful hosts who make great effort to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Cole Ranch is surely a gem, and we will visit again along with friends and family.
