The Shoshone and Nez Perce Native American tribes spent their summers in this area hunting and fishing the many streams in this valley. Trapper's used the area until the U.S. market collapse of the beaver skin top-hat in the late 1830's. Mormon pioneers began settling here in the 1890's. My great-grandparents settled in Teton Valley after moving from Nebraska in 1917. They farmed this land; growing potatoes, barley and hay. Today we raise alfalfa/grass hay that we feed to our horses. In the bottom of our field south of the campsite is Trail Creek, which is the headwaters of the Teton River. It flows out of the southern Teton mountain range in Wyoming and into Idaho. This water eventually joins the mighty Snake River near Rexburg, Idaho as it continues it's journey to the pacific ocean. Summer's here are usually warm sunny days with cool, chilly nights. The property is a shady thick aspen forest with occasional clearings and undeveloped game trails. You can expect to see wildlife if you stay for very long at all. It's very common to see moose, rabbits, foxes, deer and all kinds of birds frolicking in the woods. The property is also about a 2 mile drive from 2 different national forest access areas both offering unique hiking, fishing, off roading , skiing, and exploring. Also, grand Targhee ski resort is only a 20 minute drive from the house. The Teton river " 30 minutes away" has world class fishing for everyone from kids to serious fly fisherman. We have 3 friendly labrador muts living on the property so if you have dogs that like to play in the woods and are friendly to other dogs, bring them! Our Inn also has great tent sites, plus both 30 amp and 50 amp RV/Camper sites with water and electric, a firepit and picnic table each, plus a fee dump station. We are currently planning/building another shower/restroom house and a laundry mat. There is a fee dump station on site. With over ten acres of property to play at and stroll, your stay will be one of fun, peace and quiet. Our RV & Camp is fun! We have our famous Borrow Barn with loads of complementary activities including a 9 hole disc golf course with maps/disc/scorecards, free pedal boats, Little Free Library #69967, volleyball, tetherball, badminton, board games and more, plus our cruiser bicycles in our Bike Corral are for guests to enjoy on property also. Willow Creek Hide-a-way is off 1st street from Ski Hill road and the most unique quiet location for being so close to the center of Driggs. We are secluded and surrounded with mature willows and trees and we expect the yearly spring water run off from Teton creek making your visit feel as peaceful as possible. We have three individual hook ups including on each three hook up a 50 Amp, 30 Amp and 20 Amp electrical and one water bib, at this time we do not have any dump station, but newly constructed access to the main house mud room. We are walking distance to grocery store, post office, City building information and many restaurants to choose from. 90 miles to Yellowstone NP, one hour from Jackson WY. You can call this your base camp for many adventures, hiking, fishing, down hill skiing and much, much more seasonal activities at a year around location.
