Steamboat Meadows

7 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents5 acres ¡ Olympia, WA
Thanks for checking out our little sanctuary, nestled upon 5 acres near the tip of the Steamboat Peninsula. Steamboat Meadows offers campers a stress free and an affordable option. Currently with 5 campsites (only 1 site currently available until we open up the remaining sites on September 15th). Two of the new sites will be much different than anything we've offered in the past. We're working on the finishing touches to "Terrapin Suite", a 640sqft barn structure, yet modern and fully furnished. Terrapin Suite offers incredible views and all the amenities commonly found in a tiny home. The second site coming in the late spring of 2024, is a glamping site with a Canvas Bell tent, queen bed, spring water, rugs, solar power, and electric cook surface. Please note: for the remainder of September we will relocating a few sites to offer a more private and wilderness like experience. Additionally, we want to ensure that our neighbors enjoy the serenity they live here for. This is a space to recreate, but most importantly a space to "get away" and reset. All guests have access to WIFI-, private indoor bathroom with shower, and chill room to relax, charge devices and plan your next adventure. During fire bans, NO FIRES WILL BE ALLLOWED. Propane stoves may be used in the gravel driveway or on tables. Campers are invited to walk the property which has a couple short hiking loops in the back and hammocks for relaxing. Campground offers activities for chill time, which include table tennis, corn hole and a 4 hole disc golf course. On hot days, we also have a misting tent surrounded by fruit trees. During your stay, you'll be in the sweet spot and just 1.5 hours to either Mount Rainer and/or Olympic National Parks. 20 minutes from Olympia, 5 minutes to the local Steamboat General Store. Steamboat Meadows will be closing for the season at the end of September. During our seasonal closure, we will building two new loop trails through the forest and a board walk to better experience the wetlands. Other improvements include, aerial shade structures, locally milled handmade benches, and LED wide angle UV lighting for easy navigation on the property. Please contact us if you have any questions. More photos coming soon. Cheers, Rob

SoMe STuFF to KNoW NEARBY: Squaxin park is nearby if you feel like taking a stroll in fern gully, there is a labyrinth a five minute walk from the property, and a bus line at the end of the block. Some pretty delicious food happens in this city too, notably Left Bank Patisserie, also a short walk from the house! OUTDOOR KITCHEN: Come on down to the fire pit and find our outdoor kitchen cooking supplies! Here’s a list of what you can expect to find. Camp stove Water Jug Large pot, smaller pot Cast Iron Skillet Spatula Whisk Ladle Four sets of plates, bowls and cutlery OUTDOOR SHOWER: Past the outdoor kitchen you’ll see our outdoor shower fort. With privacy on three sides, it overlooks the wild corner, so you have a lovely view! If you’ve never showered outdoors, I highly recommend giving it a try. The water heats instantly with propane, so the water stays as hot as you like, as long as you like. Bring some shower shoes or flip flops, pathways are made of wood chips, but the shower floor is smooth. Happy to answer questions, and excited to host you!

Christmas Tree Ridge

2 sites ¡ RVs, Tents5 acres ¡ Belfair, WA
This is my first season open to the public so feedback is very utilized. Hello, my name is Joe and I live here at Christmas Tree Ridge. This beautiful 5 acre canvas overlooks the Tahuya Valley to my south and is propped on the edge of a deep gullie to the East. Long ago this whole hillside farmed Christmas Trees. Valley Ridge Lookout is a first year clearing up at the top of the plot with no power or water hookups yet, the same for West Perch. Most seem to car camp or tent, even with the round rocky soil. However, if you are in need of power or water tanks filled just let me know, the lower drive area is near my utilities. Pros: -Borders state land, hunter's verify season. -Just broke brush on a trail that connects to the Howell Lake Trail for hiking, biking, motor bike, or horseback year round. Very narrow trail, just cut this year. -Wood for burning, not all sites have a fire ring. Ask, I can arrange things. -Trash free soil, keep it that way please. -Swimming hole at Howell lake is 1 mile via that trail, less then 10min by car. -Great views of Moon and Stars Cons: -1 mile long dirt road can get bumpy at times. -While a very private place, you're going to hear some noise still. Sometime very local target shooting now and then, often at the shooting range 4 km west. Distance road noise from the north during traffic hours, occasional loud car or liter bike buzzing the back road, and single engine planes, sometimes even aerobatic, practicing above. -Gully creates steep(100% Grade or more) drop near edge of camp sites. Please keep a safe distance. Be aware when walking around the east edge at night or you may find yourself 100ft lower in the bush or trees.

Curley Creek Canyon

7 sites ¡ RVs, Tents10 acres ¡ Port Orchard, WA
Forest camping on a huckleberry farm with a salmon stream. 10 acres of permaculture and mycology includes 5 granite fire pits and loop trails with dispersed tent sites. A remote island, naturist beach and kayak at the creek. Parking is limited. Guests love it here: "We stayed two nights at Curley Creek Canyon and loved the experience! Jerrett was a wonderful host and met us upon arrival with great recommendations of places to explore on his beautiful property. The camp sites are clean, private, and have fire pits, and benches provided. We took the roped trail down to the creek (bring gloves its a bit steep) and saw large groups of salmon swim upstream. This time of year is magical with the dropping leafs and lush moss/fungus sightings. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick getaway from the city to connect to nature. Thanks, Jerrett for the experience and look forward to our next visit!"

RV camping near Shelton guide

Overview

Hours away from Seattle but worlds apart, Shelton is set at the southern end of the Olympic Peninsula in western Washington. A bit north, Hood Canal is a natural fjord offering terrific opportunities for boating, kayaking, fishing, and shellfish harvesting. Summer campers can park the RV at waterfront resorts by the canal within Potlatch State Park and Twanoh State Park. Full hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings are available at most campsites in either park. Where the warm saltwater beaches meet forested hiking trails, Hipcampers can bask in stunning Pacific Northwest scenery while hiking through Olympic National Park. Take in the rugged mountain wilderness as well as the old-growth Douglas fir and western hemlock rainforest. Then, stock up on local produce at the Shelton Farmers Market for a nice dinner in the travel trailer at a back-in campsite in nearby RV parks—which may also feature restrooms and hot showers.
