A remote setting, you’re close enough to amenities to feel at home but deep enough in the woods to get away from it all. We’ve seen deer, foxes, turkeys, hawks, chipmunks and bear on the property-a wildlife lovers paradise! We are 9 minutes from the Genesee River access point where fishing and paddling is plentiful. Want to unplug? Our guests with T-Mobile, AT&T and Cricket have had reliable cell service and we can help with tips to store your cell phone during your stay. Our guests with Verizon report they are offline, leaving you free to use your phone for photos without the interruptions or temptations of outside life. We are close by in our cottage on most weekends if any questions arise and can be reached by cell phone during the week. We offer cozy Mexican blankets, Icelandic Wool blankets, Icelandic Chocolates and other items and souvenirs for purchase on most Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Nestled on its own 4-acre parcel within our family's 12-acre plot, this cozy retreat offers a private driveway and a tranquil setting for your getaway. New additions this year include a fire ring and porta-potty, adding to the complete experience of your stay. Just a mile down the road, you'll find access to Lake Erie, boasting a small beach and kayak slip. On clear nights, don't miss the opportunity to gaze at the stunning stars above. As your host, Brian, a National Geographic cinematographer, has infused the cabin with photography and treasures from his global journeys, adding a unique touch to your stay. For your safety, please exercise caution when venturing into the woods and avoid approaching the active train tracks located at the back of the property. While the passing train adds to the rustic charm of the setting, it may NOT be suitable for light sleepers. Road traffic noise tends to calm down in quiet hours. Bed sleeps 2 but up to 3 welcome. Big Sky Camp

Big Sky Camp is on 23 acres of mixed fields and woods, which overlooks a valley with beautiful sunsets. The campsite is tucked away a half mile from the main road via a drivable trail perfect if you want to unplug from your busy schedule. The campsite includes a fire pit with removal iron grill, picnic table, storage shed with yard games and lawn chairs, a horse shoe pit, newly remodeled outhouse, and new for 2022 access to a hot outdoor shower stall. First night includes free wood. Hiking trails are nearby. The nearby town of Arcade offers a steam engine excursion, restaurants, and shops. Letchworth State Park and Knox Farm State Park are within a thirty minute drive. Our campsite is very quiet and secluded. We camp here ourselves.

Originally 100 acres was purchased by the Deering family back in the 1800's from the Holland Land company. Then sometime near 1900 the farm was split between two brothers, each receiving 50 acres.
