Farm and Forest

15 sites · RVs, Tents22 acres · Lexington, KY
This land has previously been a tobacco farm, a hay farm, and is now home to a few beef cattle. We acquired the property in 2017, and have been making it our own and enjoying it ever since. We have blazed trails through the woods for hiking, created campsites with fire rings, farmed hay, and grown various vegetables for self-consumption. We love the proximity of the farm to town, yet the seclusion we feel when we are out there.

Camp Middle Fork

4 sites · Tents180 acres · Irvine, KY
Learn more about this land: Come stay at Middle Fork Camp: two acres of grass and eleven acres of wooded hillside overlooking a valley meadow in the Daniel Boone National Forest region. Just forty minutes from the Red River Gorge and past homesite of pioneer settlers, the property features an outdoor kitchen, potable spring water, an outdoor shower, WiFi, and 110V and RV-type electric outlets. There is a yoga deck, picnic table, and wood benches with stone ring fireplaces for your use. Help yourself to vegetables from the veggie patch in season! There are ample hiking and trail running opportunities from the site, starting right behind the (private) A-frame cabin, up and over the limestone cliffs or out the gravel road. I have established hiking/running trail loops to scenic points ranging from 1 - 15 miles in length and will be happy to provide detailed information, including GPS tracks upon request. Enjoy! Note: Camp Middle Fork is a true nature area: in season there are ticks, you may see a snake, and common to this region, there is poison ivy in the woods. If you are sensitive, dress accordingly.

Queenslake - Classic KY Horse Farm

14 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents140 acres · Georgetown, KY
A long time ago, in a land far away, there lived a beautiful princess who dreamed of a spacious and beautiful farm. She fancied horses running playfully in the pastures; plenty of goats, geese, chickens, dogs, and cats roaming freely. She saw herself sitting beside a large lake under a willow tree, sipping tea or lemonade every afternoon just before her nap. Then one day, a prince came along and said, "As You Wish." Queenslake is a 140 acre working horse farm with a 40 acre fishing lake with three barns and 30 horse pastures. Trails are located around the lake and through the forest for hiking, jogging, biking, ATV, horses. Great scenery. Awesome sunrises/sunsets.

Learn more about this land: I live on 5.5 acres. It's peaceful and quiet and I love it here. I've stayed at other hip camps and simply decided that I would love to share my little slice of heaven with others passing through my area.  Notes: there is a wee bit of road noise, I live on a dead end road, there are 10 acres between my 5 acres and the Blue Grass Parkway.  I find it peaceful here and can easily ignore it but I'm mentioning it so your not surprised by it  ;)  The Neighbor dog (Roxy) is very friendly and might visit you while you are here :) You are welcome to hang a hammock in a small section of woods, by a small pond, or even on my covered porch. You are welcome to pitch a tent anywhere you like. You are welcome to park an RV or vehicle in the drive.  The drive is about 250ft long, you would need to back in in order to hook up to the 30 or 50 amp plug. RV's can use the 50 amp plug and hose for water. I have an outdoor shower and a camping toilet. I am ... - one hour from Lexington, Louisville, Elizabethtown, and Frankfort.- 1 mile from a mini mart with Gas, Ice, Pizza, Chicken Wings, Sandwiches, ect.- 6 miles from Dollar General and A pizza Restaurant - 15 ish miles from Wal-mart and other chain stores and restaurants I'm a great travel guide so feel free to tell me what your in town for or things you like to do.
