Our location is situated on the East River and boasts killer views of the Manhattan Skyline any time of day! The space is a massive open concrete surface lot on the East River. The lot is a private property and is monitored by the 24/7 security in the adjacent building. The subway is 4 blocks away (G Train, Greenpoint Ave stop) which will take you to the city in under 30 minutes. Greenpoint Ferry stop is a few blocks away which will take you to midtown Manhattan in no time! Bring your family & friends to camp at our quiet and very modest small farm. Located in backwoods horse pastures with free range chickens, a dog, and a couple of horses. The property is very spread out and there is an outhouse for all sites to us. Your pets are welcome too! Locally there are state parks with beaches, and state forest for trails & lakes, hiking and biking. Or you can just relax and enjoy the serenity! Other attractions include local farmers markets, Gilette's Castle, and the famous River Ferry crossing the Connecticut River with a vehicle across to East Haddam. We cannot allow any wood for camp fires to be brought in form the outside for environmental reasons. It can be purchased for $12 per bundle. Farm Fresh eggs daily when available for $5.00 per 1/2 dozen. And there are also blocks of ice $5 for the large styrofoam cooler in grilling area next to horse trailer. Garbage removal is available as well $5 per bag provided.

This is made possible with the support of visitors like you who are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved to share and build community with us. The land is surrounded by edible herbal plants. Enjoy an herb walk and harvest with one of our farmers. Join us for camping with a campfire, hiking, long walks and a private swim. The land is conveniently attached to the Appalachian Trail and sits on over 40 acres of preserved woodland forest to explore. The land also features a rustic outdoor shower next to the barn; access to fresh mountain water and a SunMar composting toilet. The main home has two plots for our communal kitchen garden, natural fountain pond of fresh watercress and creeks surrounding the home and property. Peaceful sounds of water and wildlife embrace you in the morning. Fireflies that melt into glistening stars and bright moonlight energize you by night.

Chris has been master carpenter and cabinet maker since the 1980’s. The two spend time keeping the grounds and gardens up and going out to dance. They love live music. The property is also the home to 3 cats and two dogs.

Stop into the farm shop, The Shack and purchase some maple syrup, jam and whatever is in season. Plenty of things to do locally. Visit the many vineyards and breweries, take a cooking class at Hunt Hill across the street, visit the quaint NE towns such as Kent or Washington.We are following all Covid-19 standards and protocols and will maintain social distance. We are only offering two night minimum weekend stays so the amount of time between guests is maximized for cleaning and disinfecting.

Menlo Pond is our 10 acre property where we live in the old 1885 farmhouse. There is also a large old cow barn on the property and a 2 acre pond. The HipCamp spot is down in the back of the property near the pond. There is a small beach with a dock and also a floating swim-to dock out in the middle of the pond. We share our flat bottom boat, canoe, standup paddle board and our kayaks. You can have a campfire in our firepit and use our outdoor grill. There is electrical hookup and possibly water(you provide the long hose). There is a seasonal outdoor shower and sometimes we have a rented Porta-potty.

Nearby towns (Kent, CT / Wassaic, NY) have awesome art, shopping and plenty of food options as well as easy access to the Appalachian trail and Macedonia state park. 15 minutes from the Wassaic metro north station, the cabin can be reach by taxi. The cabin is accessible by car, but may require a short hike in after heavy rain or snow. This cabin is part of the Offsite Camp family (www.offsite.camp).
