Urban Regenerative Gardens

2 sites ¡ RVs, Tents2 acres ¡ Sherbrooke, QC
This rare urban site acknowledges our Abenaki heritage, who camped and lived along these shores for centuries. Our beautiful urban location near highway 410 and Bishop's University, directly on St. Francis river, makes it an exceptional starting point for cyclists who want to enjoy the Route Verte path; fish, canoe, kayak or tube the river or simply explore all Sherbrooke has to offer.  Our birdlife is amazing and is a recognized birding location by provincial authorities, especially for swallows and chimney swifts. A fire pit will be made available, in respect of all fire bans, with firewood available for purchase. In 1910, Agriculture Canada set up a research centre that operated until the 1950's. The property was sold to a family that emigrated to Canada from Europe, to set begin a new life post WW2. In 2015, I purchased the property to return it to its roots - regenerative farming, training, hospitality, poverty relief and healthy living. Be our guest at The Farmhouse, a vibrant small-scale farm with a heart for the earth and its people. (https://www.thefarmhouse.store) Seasonal, fresh farm produce will be available for purchase as well as guided garden tours.   Located within 5 minute walking distance to Lennoxville (Bishop's University).  It's perfect for campers who like to experience "urban" camping. Some road noise. If you are concerned about the weather, the site provides the use of a 8 sleeper tent trailer for your convenience. During the day, you are welcome to relax in it too. Portable water will be provided, but bring your own drinks if possible. As a bonus treat, you are welcome to sleep in a very HIP camper, a 1980 retro dodge camper van. Bilingual service. Prestation bilingue.

Camping near Lac-Brome guide

Overview

Historic Lac-Brome is set around a huge lake of the same name, and given its location near several national parks and just over an hour from Montreal, the town is an idyllic base for a camping trip. All around are abundant farmlands, antique stores, sweet little villages, and tons of scenic spots for hiking, paddling, biking, or skiing—pretty much anything you might love best in nature, including horseback riding.ike, paddle, bike, ski, and do whatever you love best in nature.

When to go

There's no bad time to visit Lac-Brome, as it caters to visitors year-round. July and August can be very busy, while fall is a fantastic time for changing sugar maple leaves, a countryside ablaze in colour, and fresh produce aplenty. Winter sports are also an option for cold-weather adventurers.

Know before you go

  • While cell reception in Lac-Brome is usually good, it can be patchy or nonexistent in the parks surrounding the town.
  • Have a translation app on your phone—not everyone you meet will be fluent in English.
  • There are multiple EV charging stations in and around Lac-Brome.
  • This area serves as inspiration for best-selling crime novelist Louise Penny's fictional village of Three Pines, where her inspector Gamache solves murders. Fans can take a themed tour.
  • Standup paddleboard rentals are available in town for paddling around Brome Lake.
  • The lake is awesome for fishing and ice fishing, but you'll need a Quebec fishing license.
