Heaven on Earth. We must be the luckiest people alive to have somehow become the owners of this property which is only a short drive from the breathtaking Wilsons Promontory, and according to Lonely Planet, the second best beach in the WORLD.
The property has an abundance of temperate rainforest including massive gum trees, 6m tall tree ferns, permanent spring fed creeks, our own lake and more Australian wildlife than most zoos*. Living here, we feel like we're on holiday every day of the year.
Camping sites are situated at the back of the property just a quick 5-minute walk from the car park. We'll transport your gear to your campsite so you can get set up quickly and start exploring the property or just kick back and relax. The three campsites are positioned so that you won't hear a sound from any other campers on the property. You will feel like you've got the whole place to yourself. And even though the campsites are isolated you'll still enjoy the convenience of clean regular flushing toilet facilities. But unlike any toilet you'll have used before, you'll get to enjoy a our unique loo with a view which is situated right amongst the rainforest looking out over the magestic tree ferns!
Whether you intend to simply relax and listen to all the birdlife, grab a few drinks and head up to the viewing deck to watch the sunset, or put on your hiking boots and explore the rainforest, whatever you do, you will truly get back to nature. We offer the perfect place to escape from the rat race to recharge your batteries.
Choose any spot to set up camp, but our favourite is next to the beautiful lake-like dam.
Guests are required to be self-sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
It's only 2km to Trafalgar town centre and 5 KM to Moe. We are pet-friendly, but please ensure your pet does not bother other campers or local wildlife.
Contained campfires are permitted but can only be lit in designated fire pits. October through May is typically dry, and you may have to disallow fires during this time for safety reasons.

Neerim South is located in the southern foothills of the Great Dividing Range, there is so much to see and do nearby, including Neerim South Brewery, Toronga Water Falls, walking trails, the famous Noojee Pub, Mt Baw Baw tourist drive, Blue rock Lake which is great for fishing and swimming, there's old historical trestle bridges, Walhalla Mining town and lots more.

Campers will be notified in the event of total fire bans, this mean no outside fires.

This is a great location for family camping. It is well supported in terms of water, nearby toilet, and even a room with games for the kids, fridge, microwave, kettle. What more could you want? The kids especially will enjoy having a look at all the lovely animals on the property and the hosts are very gracious and attentive.

Such a great private camping spot on Sue and Chris’s property. We were a group of 9 adults, 2 kids and a dog, and it was perfect. Sue was a great host and made the extra effect to ensure we were comfortable and the kids were happy (even letting them sit on Amy the horse). Great communication too. Highly recommend.

We love staying at Whispering Gums. It's always lovely and peaceful. Just sitting by the beautiful lake is very calming.
The two cows and the horse came for a sticky beak when we were having a fire. It was very cute.
Sue is a fantastic host and communication is great.

We had such a lovely, relaxing time at the dam view campsite. Rob and Leanne were wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome from the start. We absolutely loved the visits from their pups they were super friendly. We were also so spoilt with fresh eggs and homegrown cucumbers, which was such a thoughtful touch. The property is incredibly peaceful. It was beautiful listening to the birds and watching the ducks on the dam. A truly great place to stop and unwind

Site 16 at Frank’s Farm was a wonderful place to stay the long weekend at! The view was spectacular at every glance and the grounds were well kept with a firepit ready to go. Stephen and Cherry were very good hosts, very responsive and very responsible. I especially appreciated that they both took the time and effort to do a round of the campsite around 10pm to check in and make sure everyone’s fire was safe amidst the warmer daytime weather. The option of the portaloos nearby for a small fee was a good choice to have. The farm overall is just the right balance between personal privacy of your own and neighbouring sites! Would highly recommend Frank’s Farm and will definitely be back again to try another site on a different side of the farm!
