The tiny house is surrounded by trees, and the interior has a platform couch and bench for seating, tiny wood stove, tiny kitchen, "shower" area for sponge bathing, and a composting toilet. (There is no running water or electricity). We are stocked with all bedding, towels, dishware, tea, coffee, and a French press! You'll find a BBQ and camp stove for cooking on the deck - there's no fridge, but a cooler with ice packs will be provided. Battery packs are here for charging cell phones and laptops (with USB-C and USB). The tiny home comes complete with rechargeable lamps, battery powered lights, potable drinking and washing water, and WIFI! Consider this the most indoor camping experience you can have and still be out in the woods! You'll want to be comfortable with making a fire and keeping warm in the winter months! The tiny stove will keep you warm on the coldest winter days, but you have to keep it going. :) In the winter months, we'll get the stove started to warm everything before you arrive (and provide you with kindling and wood). When cleaning out the ashes in the stove (if necessary,) please use the metal pail outside and place the ash-filled pail back on the concrete blocks. Please note that there is no other heat source. Check out Mill Pond Conservation Area for great hiking about 15 minutes away! Maybe Rock Dunder Nature Reserve for hiking and AMAZING views? (30 minutes). Check out Rideau Ferry Beach (Yacht Club Conservation Area) for public swimming on Rideau Lake nearby the tiny house! Looking for bikes/kayaks/canoes? With a diesel heater, it’s now a cozy four-season ready-to-camp escape — perfect for winter snowshoe getaways or crisp autumn nights with a glass of wine in hand. The site was originally built for youth group camping, with space for tents around the firepit. The rustic shelter is a recent addition, offering a comfy bed for two while keeping the group camping vibe alive. Guests can pitch extra tents to turn the stay into a full camping experience. Kids and pets are welcome at no extra charge (just leave it like you found it). Inside, you’ll find a queen bed with fresh linens and a down duvet for cooler nights. The covered deck has handcrafted rocking chairs made for lingering over sunsets. You’ll have a private campfire area under star-filled skies, hammocks tucked into quiet corners, and an outdoor camp kitchen with a wood-fired “rocket” grill, stovetop, and camp oven. Deer wander by often, and you might spot foxes, hawks, or even a bald eagle. Down at the lake, look for loons and beavers. At night, coyotes or wolves may howl in the distance — magical to hear, but never a threat. Escape to the Forest Hideaway, a charming off-grid tiny house with tiny wood stove, perfect for adventure! No need to disconnect - we’ve got WIFI! Make sure to enjoy the deck and nearby gazebo! Inside, you'll find your queen bed in the loft at the top of a ladder. The tiny house is surrounded by trees, and the interior has a platform couch and bench for seating, tiny wood stove, tiny kitchen, "shower" area for sponge bathing, and a composting toilet. (There is no running water or electricity). We are stocked with all bedding, towels, dishware, tea, coffee, and a French press! You'll find a BBQ and camp stove for cooking on the deck - there's no fridge, but a cooler with ice packs will be provided. Battery packs are here for charging cell phones and laptops (with USB-C and USB). The tiny home comes complete with rechargeable lamps, battery powered lights, potable drinking and washing water, and WIFI! Consider this the most indoor camping experience you can have and still be out in the woods! You'll want to be comfortable with making a fire and keeping warm in the winter months! The tiny stove will keep you warm on the coldest winter days, but you have to keep it going. :) In the winter months, we'll get the stove started to warm everything before you arrive (and provide you with kindling and wood). When cleaning out the ashes in the stove (if necessary,) please use the metal pail outside and place the ash-filled pail back on the concrete blocks. Please note that there is no other heat source. Check out Mill Pond Conservation Area for great hiking about 15 minutes away! Maybe Rock Dunder Nature Reserve for hiking and AMAZING views? (30 minutes). Check out Rideau Ferry Beach (Yacht Club Conservation Area) for public swimming on Rideau Lake nearby the tiny house! Looking for bikes/kayaks/canoes? Neil has a great place 30 minutes away from Gatineau! U get plenty of privacy on his property. We've enjoyed the sound of the water crrek at night. There is a wood heater inside the tent so the temperature was not too cold in mid october. There is a grocery store 5 min from the camp.... Very convinient. Would recommend!

My family and I stayed in one of the bell tents at Agape Gardens. It was super clean and very well decorated. It was so inviting and cosy. Jennie smudged the tent prior to us arriving which is such an honour to have done. Jennie and her beautiful family welcomed us with a tour of the property, which we found to be extremely well looked after. From the brimming gardens, healthy live stock, well established hiking trail, to the multiple options of sites to camp at, we were very impressed. We felt at home immediately and wished we could’ve stayed longer. We also met her neighbours who were also very friendly people and jumped to help us fix some toys we had with us. We had an absolutely lovely, relaxing time at Mike's cabin this weekend. The cabin is the perfect blend of rustic and cozy, with many thoughtful little amenities that made us feel at home right away and eliminated the stress of packing compared to traditional tent camping. We were lucky enough to book with fall colours in full force and were treated to stunning sunset views both nights. With enough hiking trails and wilderness to explore to your heart's content, there was plenty of opportunity to mix in some adventure. We are eagerly looking forward to coming back soon and experiencing what winter at the cabin has to offer!

Beautiful experience during all four seasons: - 50 minutes drive from downtown Ottawa - 20 minutes drive from the historic town of Almonte - 30 minutes drive from Pakenham or Calabogie (great ski hills) - area popular for cycling (wonderful country and forest roads) - 8km to a swimming spot, beautiful lake with a little sand and diving decks - wildlife watching: deer, fox, turkeys, rabbits, ducks, geese, frogs, turtles, birds - stargaze without light pollution - camp fire (when fire band is off) - bask in the autumn colours - explore true winter wonderland; cross country ski / snowshoe Tent Camping Sites: upon arrival, choose from car camping (close to our house) to several very private walk-in (100m-300m) spots on our 50 acres. Yurta Stay: the 4 seasons Yurta sits in the middle of our property atop a very private elevated area. Listen to subtle sounds permeate the yurt while enjoying the comfort of an insulated wood stove heated space year round! To increase the full effect of this experience, the Yurta is accessible on foot (300m walk from the car parking). A trolley is provided to transport your personal belongings. Our Yurta provides a 226 square foot 4 season space. It has an operable dome and 3 large windows. It is insulated with 100% wool felt and is outfitted with a wood stove. It has no vinyl nor any toxic materials. The Yurta space includes: - 2 custom raised beds with mattresses. These could fit 2-4 people. An extra cot is available if needed. - a wood stove - an outdoor fire pit - firewood for purchase ($8 / bundle) - table and some chairs - an outdoor dry toilet on a platform, toilet paper, water for washing hands - drinking water, flush toilet, and shower accessible at the main house - parking is by the main house which is a 300m walk to the Yurta Please bring with you: - pillows, beddings, or sleeping bags. - flashlight(s) - water bottles - food + cooler + ice (there is no refrigeration) - pots, pans, dishes, utensils - a camp stove if you wish to cook on something other than an open fire (no camp stoves inside the Yurta please) - appropriate clothing and footwear - bugspray Other things to note: - please plan to arrive before dark and bring a flashlight, there is no electricity at or around the Yurta site - please do not leave food or garbage outside to attract wild animals - no smoking, drugs, parties, or events - no hunting, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling. Please respect nature. - this is your forest retreat and a chance for digital detox; no wifi, no cell phone reception, pure nature cure!

Escape to the Forest Hideaway, a charming off-grid tiny house with tiny wood stove, perfect for adventure! No need to disconnect - we’ve got WIFI! Make sure to enjoy the deck and nearby gazebo! Inside, you'll find your queen bed in the loft at the top of a ladder. The tiny house is surrounded by trees, and the interior has a platform couch and bench for seating, tiny wood stove, tiny kitchen, "shower" area for sponge bathing, and a composting toilet. (There is no running water or electricity). We are stocked with all bedding, towels, dishware, tea, coffee, and a French press! You'll find a BBQ and camp stove for cooking on the deck - there's no fridge, but a cooler with ice packs will be provided. Battery packs are here for charging cell phones and laptops (with USB-C and USB). The tiny home comes complete with rechargeable lamps, battery powered lights, potable drinking and washing water, and WIFI! Consider this the most indoor camping experience you can have and still be out in the woods! You'll want to be comfortable with making a fire and keeping warm in the winter months! The tiny stove will keep you warm on the coldest winter days, but you have to keep it going. :) In the winter months, we'll get the stove started to warm everything before you arrive (and provide you with kindling and wood). When cleaning out the ashes in the stove (if necessary,) please use the metal pail outside and place the ash-filled pail back on the concrete blocks. Please note that there is no other heat source. Check out Mill Pond Conservation Area for great hiking about 15 minutes away! Maybe Rock Dunder Nature Reserve for hiking and AMAZING views? (30 minutes). Check out Rideau Ferry Beach (Yacht Club Conservation Area) for public swimming on Rideau Lake nearby the tiny house! Looking for bikes/kayaks/canoes? Try Rideau Tours at Chaffey's Locks, roughly 30 minutes away. No campfires (there is no clearing in the forest). No smoking please! :)
